When the tank hits empty in the middle of a February storm, Stadium Oil Heat is the Peabody number people call — and the one that answers. That thread runs through the positive reviews: a driver who parked, blocked a frozen inclined driveway and dragged the hose the length of the house to finish a fill in February 2025; a kerosene run sent out the same day after that week's route was already done; a Sunday-morning delivery for a household that ran dry overnight. The company was incorporated in Peabody in December 1988, and its BBB profile counts 37 years in business and eight employees, with heating oil, kerosene, on- and off-road diesel and heating equipment on the service list. Customers deal with the owner directly and name her — reviewers writing from 2022 through 2026 refer to Rhonda as the owner, and a customer of 40 years wrote in 2024 about “First Glen, and now Michael and Rhonda.” A 2017 Jewish Journal wedding announcement and a Salem News obituary both identify the late Glen S. Yanco as the company's earlier owner. Installs draw specific praise, not just fills. A 2023 reviewer described swapping a standard oil tank for a Roth tank at a fair price with the site left clean; a 2024 reviewer named the three technicians who put in a new furnace. The other half of the picture is billing. Google's average sits at 3.6 across 43 ratings, and the two most recent reviews are both complaints: a May 2026 note about a truck's driving, and a June 2026 account of being double billed, with a refund the customer says was promised and never arrived after months of dispute. It is not an isolated theme — a 2022 reviewer described a surprise card charge for a back balance. Two 2021 reviews describe the service side turning cold: one homeowner was told no technician would be sent because they hadn't bought oil since the previous winter, and another said their account was terminated after a disputed delivery. A November 2025 reviewer called the drivers reckless. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade, though the company is not BBB accredited and BBB publishes no complaint count or government actions for it. The work isn't all residential either: a local vocational school district's bid postings list Stadium Oil Heat as an awarded on-road diesel fuel supplier, priced off the OPIS Boston rack average. Call them when the tank is low and the forecast is bad, or for a burner, furnace or tank job on the North Shore — that's where the praise is specific and repeated. Before the first drop, pin down the price basis, the auto-delivery terms and how back balances get charged. That is where the unhappy customers ended up, and it is the one thing worth settling in writing first.

Double billed me twice. Oil prices higher than market. Service technicians our twice and no fix. I contacted Ronda the owner and after months of disputes, no refund despite her telling me refund was processed. Caught in lie. Better alternatives.

Very reckless drivers.
My drive way has an incline and freezes. With last weeks freezing rain , it was bad. Of course it was frigid out and oil was low. The delivery guy tried several times to get all the way up. Intake is on the opposite side of the house, to no avail. So he parked and blocked it and pulled the hose all the way back, in the snow, to make that delivery. Can't say enough!! Great customer service
EXCEPTIONAL! I ran out of kerosene for my heat and even though their trucks had already done the weekly run for this type of heat they had my back and sent a truck out right away! Rhonda and her team are wonderful and the driver was just perfect so I HIGHLY RECCOMEND STADIUM OIL !!
