Suetam Painting and Finishes is an Andover, MA shop that Mateus Pereira started in 2018, and cabinets are where its reputation is built: reviewer after reviewer describes tired kitchen or bathroom cabinets refinished to look brand new rather than just repainted, work homeowners keep pointing to when they're getting a house ready to sell or just tired of dated wood.
The praise on Google, Angi, and HomeAdvisor is extensive and consistent. Reviewers across several years describe Mateus and his crew — often naming Freddy, his supervisor — as punctual, clean, and communicative, whether the job is a full interior repaint, an exterior color change, or a tricky cabinet job. A 2026 review describes the team navigating a large project with multiple other contractors and phases; a 2021 review recounts a window sill rebuilt from PVC on an older two-family home, trimmed and sanded to match the originals. A repeat customer says they call Suetam for both painting and carpentry work.
The written record isn't spotless. A recent Angi review from this spring notes the paint held up well on most of a house but started peeling in one area. One homeowner reported being stood up for a scheduled on-site estimate this past summer, with no call after several confirmation reminders. The picture across platforms also isn't uniform: the company's Better Business Bureau listing shows an F grade, with no complaint detail given behind it — it sits oddly against the run of five-star reviews on Google, Angi, and HomeAdvisor, and is worth asking about directly.
The company is self-described as immigrant-owned, run by Mateus Pereira with Emilly Lima handling customer communication, and it names cabinet refinishing, wallpaper removal, power washing, deck restoration, and gutter cleaning alongside its core interior and exterior painting work, serving Andover, North Andover, and the surrounding Merrimack Valley towns.
For a cabinet refresh or a full repaint, this is a strong local option with a long, well-reviewed track record — just confirm the estimate appointment directly and ask what's behind that BBB grade before booking.
