The Home Inspection Company is Ed Morkis's Framingham-based practice, and his Massachusetts home inspector license is active — he's also a licensed Construction Supervisor and an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, per the company's own site, which puts him at 10 years in business. Twenty-eight Google reviews run from 2021 through mid-2026, nearly all five stars, and the specifics are unusually consistent: thorough, explains everything, answers questions patiently. The stories that stick out go beyond routine praise. In a 2026 review, a buyer says Ed's report on their first prospective home caught a mouse infestation serious enough to call it a "tinderbox, death trap," and that his equally careful report on their second choice gave them confidence to buy it. A 2022 review from a buyer who is himself a contractor says he didn't expect Ed to find much beyond his own walkthrough — but Ed did, and the findings became leverage to negotiate a better price on the property. A 2023 reviewer says Ed's report helped them save over $10,000 on insulation work in their new home. In a 2026 review, a first-time buyer, anxious about the process, says Ed made a special trip out on Christmas Eve and caught items the buyer had missed on their own walkthrough. Turnaround comes up often too: multiple reviewers from 2024 and 2025 describe reports back within 24 hours, and several say Ed accommodated short-notice scheduling. One reviewer, in a 2021 review, gave four stars rather than five but still says using Ed's services twice left them undisappointed — the lone review in the record on file that isn't a full five stars, and even it reads as a mild endorsement rather than a complaint. Repeat and referral business shows up directly in the reviews: past clients and real estate agents describe using him a second time and referring him to their own clients, and one agent, in a 2023 review, calls him her "absolute go-to". For a MetroWest or Greater Boston buyer who wants a hands-on walkthrough rather than a rubber-stamp inspection, this is about as deep and consistent a written record as a solo inspector gets — worth confirming which of the extra services (radon, mold, well/water testing) apply to the specific property.
We had a great experience with Ed. He was extremely thorough and took the time to explain all the items on our home inspection. He walked us through the difference between small items and larger future issues. He checked in after we received our report to ensure all our questions were answered. I also left our interactions feeling that I could reach out at any future time to ask more questions if needed. I highly recommend.
Ed was great to work with. On time and very responsive. Very thorough:)
Ed helped us inspect two homes! The first of which turned out to be a mouse infested, tinderbox, death trap and Ed’s detailed and meticulous inspection report saved our lives. As a result we found our dream home and I trusted it all the more after another stellar report from ED. As a first time home buyer I cannot give Ed higher praises for his kind, and professional demeanor, and patience with our endless questions and concerns.
Was recommended Ed by a friend. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, would highly recommend to others!
I would highly recommend Ed Morkis!! I am a first time home buyer, and very anxious about making a purchase. Ed helped ease the stressful process by being very thorough in his home inspection. He made the extra effort to come to an appointment on Christmas Eve and noticed items I did not when I first viewed the property. He took some extra time to point out flaws and explain their significance (or lack there of). With his thorough report, the sellers have been able/willing to address some of the items which has helped the grand home buying process go much more smoothly than I was expecting. Thank you so much, Ed!
