BuildZoom's permit record shows that volume for the East Falmouth firm, which describes itself as a second-generation family-owned construction company doing new homes, additions and renovations. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 162440, is active. The distinctive part of the work is energy performance. Houzz lists two Passive House certifications from the Passive House Institute and a LEED Platinum award alongside five PRISM awards from BRAGB in 2015, and the company's own site puts passive-house and net-zero construction, LEED homes and deep energy retrofits front and centre. An architect writing in 2016 described building a custom home to the Passive House standard with them — new territory for both parties — and credited Christian Valle's attention to detail for keeping the process smooth. Much of the written praise comes from people in the trade, which cuts both ways: it speaks to how they run a job, less to how they treat a homeowner. A design firm in 2023 called them organized and responsive and said the handoff from design to construction was easy for both the design team and their shared clients. An interior designer in 2017 described a completed renovation of an 1893 Cape farmhouse and two-story barn as clean, on schedule and on budget. The 2020 account of a small physician's office is the most useful one: the client hit a cash-flow problem partway through COVID, and said the team worked through project adjustments with them rather than against them. One caveat comes from a client rather than a partner. A 2017 reviewer said the work was flawless and close to budget, and that the overage traced to a subcontractor — but added they would ask for closer oversight on change orders next time. That is the question to bring to a first meeting: who approves change orders, and how are subcontractor overages handled. The written record is small for a firm with this permit volume — seven reviews from 2016 to 2023 — and the ratings are uniformly high across Google, Houzz and BBB. For a high-performance or passive-house build on the upper Cape, this is a rare specialism; ask for two recent homeowner references and get the change-order process in writing.
