Two walls in the way of a kitchen renovation, and a contractor who wasn't sure if they were load bearing: in a June 2025 Google review, a customer says Matt of Tripi Engineering came out, did a full inspection, deemed the wall non-load bearing and had a formal report in the reviewer's email inbox the next day, at a price the reviewer called extremely reasonable. Tripi Engineering Services is a structural engineering firm in Hudson, and says it has been in business 23 years. In a January 2026 review, Matt Tripi came to a homeowner's house for an inspection and, within a few days, provided graphs showing the capabilities and limitations of the conditions so the construction could proceed. A custom home builder wrote in July 2025 that Matt met the builder onsite about a structural concern and sent detailed structural plans within a week. A March 2026 Reddit commenter in r/somerville said they worked with Joaquín A. Denoya at Tripi and would work with him again. A May 2025 customer who had Tripi evaluate a building they were buying says that 11 business days after the May 14 inspection there was still no report, and objected that the firm does not provide repair cost estimates. Google shows 4.3 stars from 6 ratings.
“We worked with Joaquín A. Denoya at tripi engineering https://tripiengineering.com/ and I would definitely worth with him again.”
Matt Tripi came to my house for an inspection, gave his review opinion and provided me with graphs to demonstrate the capabilities (and limitations) of the conditions all in a few days. Matt worked quickly to get me the information I need to proceed with my construction in a very timely fashion and I appreciate his efforts. I would recommend Tripi to anyone in the area.
I'm a local custom home builder and I had a structural concern on a jobsite. I reached out to Matt and he got back to me immediately. We met onsite when he said he would be there. The communication between him and I was seamless, which is an important aspect in my world. His detailed structural plans were in my inbox within a week, accurate and thorough. The concern I had was solved promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Tripi Engineering. Thanks Matt!
In the process of a kitchen renovation and need to take down 2 walls. Contractor wasn’t sure if they were load bearing so needed an engineer. First one I called wanted an arm and a leg just to come out and inspect. Called Matt the next day and he was nothing but professional from the start. Gave me a realistic time table of when he could come out (was 7-10 days after I called). Price was extremely reasonable. He came to the residence, did a full inspection, and deemed the wall non-load bearing. I had a formal report in my email inbox the next day. Highly recommend!!
I had Tripi come out to evaluate a building I am in the process of purchasing. The inspection date was 5/14. 11 Business days later I still have no report. I did reach out earlier this week and was told I would get it "this week." Well, it's Friday at 5:30 and no report. Oh, and they don't provide cost estimates so what even is the point? Am I supposed to guess how much repairs will cost? Useless.
