Homeowners hire it for full roof replacements, flat and rubber roofs, gutters, skylights and siding, and - distinctively for this part of Massachusetts - for winter ice-dam and snow work. Reviewers describe a small operation where the owner and his son are the people who turn up. A homeowner writing in August 2026 says a section of roof had defeated several previous contractors, that Thomas returned the call and came out within days, proposed a fix on the spot at what they considered a very reasonable price, and that the crew arrived at 7am as promised and finished in several hours with no leaks through two later downpours. Another, in May 2026, describes a 2.5-day reroof and gutter replacement in Wakefield done to a clear written contract with no charges beyond the contract price.
Price comes up repeatedly and favourably. In February 2026 one homeowner said competing ice-dam quotes were at least 2.5 times what Burke charged, and another that other companies wanted double. Reviewers across 2025 and 2026 also single out daily site cleanup and the owner staying on top of his crew's work.
The record is not unbroken. A one-star reviewer in August 2022 wrote that their roof was leaking and the owner refused to fix it, that rotted wood under the shingles was not replaced as the contract specified so the new roof was dipping, and that nails were left across the property for a year afterwards. That is a single account and the only negative on file, but it describes exactly the failures a roof buyer should protect against. A separate 2022 customer took the opposite view of the same issue class: they found a cracked roof board and loose nails at final inspection, and say Mr Burke responded quickly and his son resolved both the same day.
For a homeowner north of Boston wanting a long-established family roofer with strong winter storm response, this is a serious candidate. Before signing, get the scope for rotted decking and nail cleanup written into the contract, confirm the Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration and insurance, and agree a punch-list walkthrough at completion.

We recently had Thomas Burke replace a section of our roof that was particularly problematic during heavy, windy rainstorms. Several contractors had tried and failed to fix the issue. Thomas got right back to me on the phone and came out to my house within a few days. He quickly proposed a solution on the spot; the price was very reasonable. Within a week his team showed up @ 7:00am as promised and finished the job in several hours. Excellent! Everyone was professional and courteous. We've since had two torrential rain storms that put the roof to the test. No leaks! We could not have been happier with our experience with Thomas Burke and his team. Great job.

Last year, we had a front entry added to our house, and it became immediately apparent that we needed a new roof. We called Burke Roofing, and got an estimate, and decided it was a go.
The process was great at every step. One concern we had was getting our solar hot water panels removed and reinstalled, which was done by our solar contractor, and the roofers were careful when working around the fittings to which we would have the solar reconnected,.
I was impressed with how it went. They worked rapidly but not in a rush, and the place always looked clean at the end of the day. And the results were, as you can see, beautiful.
