Universe RE Construction Corp & Handyman

The biggest job anyone here describes is a three-floor multi-family. In a June 2025 review, a customer wrote that Universe RE painted every apartment, redid the floors and fixed a long list of small things along the way, helping with other issues that came up and keeping the pricing fair. That mix — one real remodel alongside a lot of small work — is what this Woburn company sells; its own site says it has handled residential and commercial repair, remodeling and maintenance around Massachusetts since 2020. Thumbtack is where most of the history sits: 4.8 from 72 ratings, with 80 hires and 122 projects listed. The written accounts are fewer and older. A September 2024 review covers a basement bulkhead door; a March 2023 review has a new dishwasher going in within two days of the request; a January 2023 review counts two sink faucets, a shower handle and three outdoor faucets installed, after which the crew walked the house and tested each one with the customer. How fast they answer is the thing customers mention most often — three of the seven written reviews single it out. The June 2023 one credits a quick reply, an accurate quote, an on-time arrival and the parts supplied. The two Google reviews are both from September 2020, when a homeowner called the work thoughtful and timely and said it made moving into their house easy. Two things to settle before booking. The written history is dated — the newest account is from June 2025 and the Google pair from 2020 — so ask what they have done lately that resembles your job. And the service area their site lists runs from Bourne and New Bedford up through Gloucester and Haverhill, a long way in both directions from the Woburn address, so confirm your town is actually covered. Under the 4.8 on Thumbtack the spread is not spotless either: 93% of the 72 ratings are five-star, but 3% sit at one star and 1% at two. For small installs and repairs — a faucet, a dishwasher, a bulkhead door, rooms that need painting — this is a sensible call, and one customer handed them a whole three-floor remodel. Get the quote up front, and check the town before you plan around them.
