Abrams Renovations is a Brookline outfit built around big undertakings — kitchen and basement remodels, additions, and the kind of historic-home work that takes real coordination. The company says it has spent more than two decades designing, building, and renovating luxury and historic properties across the Boston area, working directly with clients or alongside their own architects and designers. The reviews on file are short but consistent: five stars on both Google and Houzz, with homeowners repeatedly calling out being on time, on budget, and easy to work with through a full renovation. One client who hired Matt Abrams's team for several older-home projects over the years described a team approach that kept the original character of the house intact while staying meticulous on the details. A 2022 feature in New England Home Magazine credited Matt Abrams and Abrams Renovations as the renovation builders on a Chestnut Hill project, alongside Hawthorn Builders. Worth knowing before calling: most of the written reviews on file date to February 2019, with a single recent Google rating from August 2026 — the praise is real, but the paper trail between those dates is thin. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration (#191963) verifies as active, though the state registry lists its holder of record as Abrams Properties LLC rather than Abrams Renovations, LLC — worth clarifying which entity is actually contracting for the work. BuildZoom separately shows two different status entries for a construction-supervisor licence (CS-112302) tied to the business, one active and one inactive, so it's worth asking which is current. For a homeowner planning a kitchen, bath, or historic-home renovation in the Brookline/Newton area, the five-star record and two decades of stated experience are a reasonable starting point — just confirm the current licence status and which entity is on the contract before signing.

Abrams Renovations has renovated a number of houses for me over the years. These were all older homes in which I wanted to renovate without completely losing all of it's unique, original details. Right from the start, their team approach gave me the confidence that the project was going to be completed meticulously with great attention to detail. Furthermore, during the renovation, we met frequently and they always kept me informed of any potential concerns and opportunities. I can't say enough about how pleasant the team was to work with and how outstanding a product they produce. I look forward to working with them again on my next project.
