Homeowners working through Mass Save keep landing on ABT Insulation for one reason: they take the jobs most weatherization crews won't. In an August 2025 review, a customer who spoke with at least five insulation companies about foaming an attic and blowing cellulose into the walls said most of them do quick rebate-financed jobs and won't do foam — ABT gave the best advice and took it on. The Wilmington company trades as American Building Technologies, says on its site that it started in 2007 under founder Jose Santos, and lists itself as a Mass Save partner. The insulation work draws specific praise going back five years: attics, walls, basement rim joists, door air-sealing. A March 2024 reviewer said the crew didn't miss a wall on the blown-in and was thorough with the door sealing. A February 2026 customer picked ABT over competing bidders on price plus their grasp of the Mass Save rebate rules, and had the attic and basement rim joist done. A Sudbury permit record from January 2026 lists an attic air-sealing and blown-in cellulose job to R-49 at just over $12,000 — the scale of project they handle. They've extended past insulation. In a June 2024 review a homeowner said ABT hung board and plastered an entire circa-1900 house and buried every flaw, with the finish carpenter's reaction as the endorsement. That April, a crew of eight to ten stripped four layers of shingles off a roof, replaced rotted fascia, laid ice-and-water and roof wrap, and flashed the chimneys. Two customers writing this August say their roofs look new. Getting to the start line is the recurring problem. In April 2026 a homeowner left one star saying an estimator came out, they sent questions back, and never heard anything again — an April 2024 reviewer told nearly the same story, a scheduled estimate, an address sent on request, then silence. A December 2024 customer said scheduling was rough early on even though the finished job was tight. More seriously, a December 2022 reviewer said the insulation job was left incomplete, that they went to Mass Save to hold the contractor to work already paid for, and that ABT hung up when they called to rebook. And in September 2021 a customer said a drill hole for blown-in hit a wire and killed power to some lights. Credentials are worth asking about directly: a LinkedIn profile for American Building Technologies describes it as a full-service general contractor carrying a Construction Supervisor License and a Home Improvement Contractor License, but that is the company's own description rather than anything confirmed against the state registry here. For a Mass Save attic, wall or rim-joist job — especially one where you want spray foam instead of the standard package — the praise here is deep and specific. Get the scope and price in writing rather than over the phone, put a start date in it, and ask for the licence numbers and a certificate of insurance before the crew arrives.

Great service and did it quick and perfect my roof looks brand new
They have great service they did my houses roof and it looks perfect they did it quick and perfect in in love with their service and really recommend
Came out and gave an estimate. I responded with questions and never heard back.
I reached out to ABT Insulation originally based on MassSaves work that needed to be done. After comparing different companies and options, I went with ABT because of their competitive pricing and knowledge of my MassSaves rebate situation. I did Attic and Basement rim joist insulation, along with door sweep, weather strips and vapor barriers for extra measure. I was happy with their promptness, and communication and they even came back to inspect and patch up some areas in the basement. Very happy with their work and would reccomend.
I spoke with at least five different insulation companies about my plan to insulate my attic with foam and my walls with blown in cellulose. Most insulation companies are just quick hit jobs financed via mass save and won’t do foam. ABT insulation gave me the best advice about the job BY FAR and offered me fair and competitive pricing. I ended up not moving forward at this time only because I need to do more work to my HVAC system first in order to ventilate by attic but I will definitely call ABT again in the future.
