A refrigerator that quit overnight is ABV's home turf. In a September 2025 review, a customer who called on a friend's recommendation got a same-day visit; another wrote in November 2025 that a tech arrived within three hours, diagnosed the fault and fixed it; a 2024 customer had someone out on a Saturday night. Across 160 Google ratings the average is 4.8, and Thumbtack puts them at 4.4 from 66. The Boston shop covers the standard household lineup — refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and ranges — and reviewers tend to name whoever turned up: Alex, Igor, Ivan, Artem, Oleg, Adam, Nick. The compliments repeat: on time, explains the fault, shows you what to watch. One September 2025 customer liked that the tech traced the problem past the appliance itself to everything attached to it. The visit fee is $95 and gets credited toward the repair, which customers in 2025 and 2026 both singled out. Price is the recurring sore spot. In a July 2024 review, a customer balked at $645 to repair an ice maker and later had it replaced elsewhere for $380. Two others who still gave four stars — in October 2025 and March 2026 — said the quote ran high for the part involved. Sharper still, in June 2026 a homeowner said the technician called for a $600 motor on their washer; they opened the drain cover themselves and pulled out coins and a button instead. What happens after a repair fails is the other theme. A customer in August 2025 paid $235 for a washer repair and found the machine wouldn't wash, spin or drain, with no one reachable afterward. In a July 2024 review, another described paying about $3,000 on a leaking HVAC system that leaked again the next day, and said the company pointed at the installation to decline its own 60-day warranty. A June 2025 reviewer said a scheduled window-AC install was missed without a call. The company does answer complaints, though: a 2024 reviewer raised their rating to three stars after ABV called offering a free diagnostic, and a July 2026 customer praised how a fee dispute was handled on a job the tech couldn't complete. For a dead fridge or a washer that won't drain, the speed is real and the techs earn their marks. Get the diagnosis in writing with the part and price before authorizing work, ask what happens if the repair doesn't hold, and on any big-ticket quote take a second opinion.
“Our technician, Adam, was incredible. He walked us through what was wrong with our dishwasher, next steps and pricing up front”
Very responsive to reach out and address concerns about a service fee for a service they were unable to perform.
When my oven started having issues, ABV sent a technician to assess the scenario within 48 hours of when I called them. Within 24 hours of the assessment, they sent a quote for buying replacement parts and repairing the oven. The technician who assessed the oven was knowledgeable, friendly, and punctual. I initially accepted the quote, but after thinking about it for another day, decided that replacing the oven made more sense than repairing it. I called ABV to explain the scenario and told them I'd be happy to pay for replacement parts they'd already ordered, and they told me I didn't owe anything. They were gracious and understanding. I'll happily call ABV for future appliance needs.
The repairman came and didn’t do anything. Claimed my washer need major repair which would cost me more than $600 for a brand new motor. I took care of the machine myself by opening the drain cover and took out the coins and button myself. The guy did not even bother completely take the thin plastic cover off the get access to the drain. What a rip off for coming over for few mins and lame diagnose. Avoid them at all cost.
Excellent service!
Good service although the price was very high for a part that wasn’t costly.
