Allston Contractors is a Boston-area remodeler built around kitchens, baths and the additions that come with growing a house rather than moving out of it — the company says it brings 11 years of high-end residential remodeling and new-construction experience, with custom home builds and ADUs alongside its core kitchen and bath work. The written record, 20 reviews running from 2020 through 2026 and a 4.8★ average across 38 Google ratings, leans heavily toward full-room jobs done well. In a 2024 review, a homeowner described adding an elevator to an 1896 single-family — along with an updated kitchen, a new bath and a laundry area — with work starting the day permits came through and finishing on budget with steady progress throughout. A 2022 review recounted a kitchen and half-bath remodel, plus a ceiling repair from a flood upstairs, where the crew, led by Juliano and subcontractor Elijah, finished exactly on the timeline promised at a price the customer called reasonable. Another, from 2023, described a kitchen transformation managed by project managers with civil engineering backgrounds who coordinated electricians, plumbers, painters and suppliers, noting some minor delays but steady communication throughout. Other jobs on record range from a basement gym build to a kitchen-and-sunroom remodel to a kitchen addition of a half bath and linen closet — the same throughline each time: subs kept on schedule, one point of contact managing the job. Not every account is clean. A 2025 review described a pricing dispute over lighting work: the electrician subcontractor tried to charge double for a chandelier install that wasn't in the contract and pushed for patch-up work outside the original scope, though the reviewer noted Julianno called promptly and agreed the patch work shouldn't have been billed. A separate 2023 review, rated 1 star, flagged a non-working website and the absence of a license number on mailings — worth noting given the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is independently verified active today. Allston is a fit for a full kitchen or bath gut, an addition, or an ADU where the homeowner wants one company managing the subcontractors — just get the scope of any add-on electrical or patch work spelled out in writing before the crew starts, given the one pricing dispute on record.
I had a fantastic experience with this general contractor. They were professional, reliable, and completed the project on time. The workmanship was excellent, and they paid attention to every detail. Communication was clear throughout, and they kept the worksite clean. I highly recommend this contractor to anyone looking for skilled and trustworthy renovation services. 🏠
I worked with Allston Contractors to update my lights throughout my home. I met with Julianno and his electrician. There was miscommunication with pricing as well as expectation around the work. For example, the electrician tried to charge me double for the chandelier installation while that was not included in the contract (Cruz Electricians) as well is requiring me to patch up work around the newly updated lights. I was really surprised when I got the invoice and spoke to Julianno’s team. Julianno called me right away and agreed that requiring patch work was not in the original scope of work and sent over his own painter at his expense. His painter was at my home for two days repainting the entire ceiling basement without any compensation. Julianno also honored the original price agreement as well. Allston contractors also updated my foggy windows in my other home. His handyman came and fixed the windows without any issues..quick turnaround with a reasonable pricing. It is rare to find someone in the construction market who won’t leave you high and dry or change the final price (bait and switch). I have worked with several contractors and subs in the past and these guys are the real deal. They follow through, make sure the promised scope is done to high quality work, and will stand by what is the truth and not what is convenient/profitable for the company. I have been impressed with how they dealt with this situation.
Allston Contractors built a gym in our unfinished basement. They did wonderful work - the final room is much nicer than we had anticipated it could be. They were communicative and very friendly, and kept to the timelines we had discussed.
Exceptional Home Renovation Experience with Allstone Contractors! Highly Recommend Allstone Contractors! Allston Contractors did an outstanding work. They were professional, detail-oriented, and delivered top-quality craftsmanship on time and within budget. Their communication was excellent, and the results exceeded my expectations. If you need a reliable and skilled contractor, I highly recommend them!
I’ve been working with Allston Contractors on an extensive renovation of my house. Their crew is responsive and patient (that’s important to me.) The quality of their work is superb! And, they are problem solvers - in an old house, it’s inevitable that you will be faced with the unexpected. I’m so happy I decided to work with them.
