Allston Contractors builds and remodels homes across the Boston area — custom home builds, additions and ADUs, and kitchen and bathroom remodels are the three pillars the company points to on its own site. It describes itself as a high-end residential remodeling and new-construction shop with around eleven years in business. The numbers back that up with real weight: 4.8 stars across 38 Google reviews, and a recent one from this past March describes the crew as on-time, detail-oriented, and communicative throughout the job, with a clean worksite at the finish. Angi shows a perfect 5.0, though that rests on just two reviews from June 2020 — a thin, dated data point next to the Google history. One detail worth flagging: a former project manager says on LinkedIn that he managed a $5,000,000 residential Net Zero home build for the company, which points to real capacity for large, technical projects beyond a standard kitchen or bath job. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license is active and verified, which matters for a company taking on additions and new construction. Independent chatter beyond Google is light, though — its Serden profile carries no reviews yet, and only one fresh review has landed on Google in the past six months, so there isn't much recent, independent signal to lean on beyond that single write-up. For someone planning a full remodel, an addition, or a custom build rather than a quick fix, the license checks out and the flagship reviews line up with what the company advertises about itself. Worth confirming current availability and asking for references from a project close to the scope and scale you have in mind, given how much of the public record leans on a handful of standout jobs rather than a large, steady stream of recent reviews.

I had a fantastic experience with this general contractor. They were professional, reliable, and completed the project on time. The workmanship was excellent, and they paid attention to every detail. Communication was clear throughout, and they kept the worksite clean. I highly recommend this contractor to anyone looking for skilled and trustworthy renovation services. 🏠

I worked with Allston Contractors to update my lights throughout my home. I met with Julianno and his electrician. There was miscommunication with pricing as well as expectation around the work. For example, the electrician tried to charge me double for the chandelier installation while that was not included in the contract (Cruz Electricians) as well is requiring me to patch up work around the newly updated lights. I was really surprised when I got the invoice and spoke to Julianno’s team. Julianno called me right away and agreed that requiring patch work was not in the original scope of work and sent over his own painter at his expense. His painter was at my home for two days repainting the entire ceiling basement without any compensation. Julianno also honored the original price agreement as well. Allston contractors also updated my foggy windows in my other home. His handyman came and fixed the windows without any issues..quick turnaround with a reasonable pricing. It is rare to find someone in the construction market who won’t leave you high and dry or change the final price (bait and switch). I have worked with several contractors and subs in the past and these guys are the real deal. They follow through, make sure the promised scope is done to high quality work, and will stand by what is the truth and not what is convenient/profitable for the company. I have been impressed with how they dealt with this situation.

Allston Contractors built a gym in our unfinished basement. They did wonderful work - the final room is much nicer than we had anticipated it could be. They were communicative and very friendly, and kept to the timelines we had discussed.

I’ve been working with Allston Contractors on an extensive renovation of my house. Their crew is responsive and patient (that’s important to me.) The quality of their work is superb! And, they are problem solvers - in an old house, it’s inevitable that you will be faced with the unexpected. I’m so happy I decided to work with them.
