Anchor Building and Design

Anchor Building and Design is a Cape Cod general contractor based in Barnstable and run by Diego and Wally, doing new construction plus whole-home, kitchen, bathroom and basement remodeling and additions across Barnstable County — the company says it serves Yarmouth, Bourne, Brewster, Orleans, Chatham, Dennis, Sandwich and Mashpee. Massachusetts records an active home improvement contractor registration for the company (No. 214425), and BuildZoom and Thumbtack separately list an active Construction Supervisor license held by the business. The review history here is unusually deep for a company its size: BuildZoom tracks 71 building permits pulled mostly between 2022 and 2025 across Cape towns and scores the company in the 99th percentile of the contractors it rates, and fourteen reviews across Google and Thumbtack — dated 2024 through early 2026 — are all five stars. What stands out isn't just the volume but the difficulty of the jobs described: in a 2025 review, one homeowner said Anchor took on a renovation that four other contractors had already written off as a tear-down; another that same year credited the team with fixing a bathroom installation a previous contractor had botched. A different 2025 review described a kitchen renovation on a 75-year-old Cape-style home that kept the house's original character intact rather than stripping it out. Earlier reviews from 2024 mention a deck repair paired with fixing a drainage problem, replacing rotted exterior wood and siding shingles starting that year, and, in a January 2026 review, rebuilding a set of outdoor stairs squeezed in during a busy holiday stretch. Several reviewers, across both platforms, single out clear communication and showing up on schedule. There's nothing negative on record to weigh against any of this — every review found is five stars, with reviewers repeatedly calling out honesty, responsiveness and code knowledge. For a Cape Cod homeowner tackling a kitchen or bathroom remodel, an addition, or a project a previous contractor mishandled, Anchor's combination of a verified license, a long local permit history and consistently detailed praise makes it worth a call — confirm current availability and pricing for the scope of your project.
