Power Fuels Propane sells fuel by delivery: its BBB profile describes home heating oil retail and delivery, plus propane and diesel delivery. Its website says its service department works on residential and commercial heating, cooling, and oil and gas systems. It holds an A+ grade with the BBB and a 3.7-star Google rating from 12 ratings. A recent Google customer on auto-delivery and auto-payment said their propane tanks ran empty during a snowfall because the company did not deliver, leaving the home without heat with a 2-year-old and a 4-month-old in the house. That customer said the only notice was one phone call about a credit card issue 10 days earlier, that it took over four hours to get propane delivered once they called, and that the manager was rude and did not apologize. In a 2026 review, a customer said their propane service was shut off over a misapplied payment on a fully paid account, leaving the household without heat or hot water in January. That customer said a strong propane odor led to an evacuation and a fire department response, and that the branch manager raised his voice and said he was coming to get the tanks. A 2024 customer wrote that Josh serviced their propane heater and got to the root of the problem. A 2024 reviewer said they had been happy with Power Fuels for the past 7 years.

I’ll start this off by saying that I gave this company every chance to avoid this review - I even sent them a couple emails saying an apology would avoid a bad review. I am on auto-delivery and auto-payment with Power Fuels Propane. This winter, during snowfall, our propane tanks ran completely empty because Power Fuels did not deliver. As a result, my home had no heat while I had a 2-year-old and a 4-month-old in the house. This is not an inconvenience — it’s a safety issue. After the fact, I was told they had attempted one single phone call about a supposed credit card issue 10 days earlier regarding the annual tank lease fee. That call showed up as potential spam, and there was no follow-up call, no voicemail, no email, no letter — nothing. If you’re going to shut off service for a heating customer in winter, one unanswered spam-labeled call is negligent. When I called to get this resolved, it took over four hours to get propane delivered — while my family sat in a cold house. During this ordeal, I dealt with Scott Fitzgerald, the manager, who was rude and unprofessional. He: • Implied I was lying about being on auto-payment and auto-delivery • Took zero accountability, even when it was proven the failure was on their end • Did not apologize once • Showed no remorse whatsoever for leaving a family with infants without heat Power Fuels Propane failed at every level: communication, accountability, urgency, and customer care. Things happen, I get it. And if Scott hadn’t been bullheaded and self righteous I would have brushed this off no problem
My experience with this company raised serious safety and service concerns. Despite my account being fully paid, my propane service was shut off due to a misapplied payment, leaving my household, including my 78-year-old husband with Alzheimer's, without heat, hot water, or a functioning fireplace in the middle of January. A strong propane odor inside the home required evacuation and a response from the fire department. When the branch manager learned I had contacted the fire dept, he raised his voice and repeatedly stated he was ‘coming to get the tanks now,’ which was extremely unnerving in the middle of an active propane odor situation during the winter. While I was arranging service with a new company, my propane level was low, and Power Fuels told me I would need to pay COD for any delivery. Ironically, this demand came from the same company that had failed to correctly post a simple payment or de‑escalate a basic customer service situation. Even after escalating the matter to the company president, there was no urgency, no accountability, and no meaningful attempt to correct their own error or offer any remedy for the disruption and safety concerns. If this is how they handle a household with a vulnerable senior, think twice before relying on them for your family's fuel needs.
So impressed with the service of my propane heater today by Josh - he went over and above to get to the root of the problem and was so courteous and friendly. I highly recommend the company and Josh specifically.
