Berkshire Oil Inc. is a heating oil company whose own site lists a service area running from Bristol and Plainville to Avon, Farmington, New Britain, Newington and Southington. The company says it has been in business 40 years and that callers always reach a live person, with an answering service after regular business hours. A 2025 customer who has lived in Bristol for 7 to 8 years said Berkshire was the first oil company they called and praised Teresa and Brenda for support and delivery. A 2026 customer gave a shout out to Brenda in the office and Mark on the road. In a 2025 review, a customer said the oil companies they called during the cold days all had a wait time of several days, and they chose Berkshire because of the price and service. A 2025 customer in Bristol said an oil order placed at the beginning of the month went unfilled because the company was running almost 2 weeks out, that the advertised emergency service had its time slots booked, and that the woman on the phone was rude; that customer then got oil from another company. A 2025 customer who ordered oil on a Thursday and needed a restart, with the temperature at 10 degrees, said the office would not deliver until Tuesday of the following week because they would not be out that way. That 2025 customer called it the second time they had dealt with no-shows, and said they ran out of oil the first time.

A shout out to Brenda in office and Mark on the road! You keep the home fires burning. Appreciate you and the whole company <3
1 star is too generous. I’ve been a loyal customer since I purchased my home in Bristol. Ordered oil at the beginning of the month and they failed to tell me they’re running almost 2 weeks out. Upon calling them to ask what was happening they told me they can’t help me for another 3 days and the emergency services they advertised had “all of the time slots booked for other orders”. Whichever woman I spoke to on the phone was insanely rude and acted as though I was supposed to know all of this information. I actually had to stop the person I was speaking to and ask why she was speaking to me as if I’m inferior. It would have been nicer if she just told me to kick rocks. Anyways, called Cousin’s and told them about my situation, oil was delivered within 30 minutes of calling them. Berkshire oil should really learn a thing or two about treating customers well. Loyalty is most important in a competitive market.
I've called several oil companies recently, during those really cold days. All of them had a wait time of several days. We chose Berkshire because of the price and service. I can't imagine how the oil truck drivers came out in the freezing bitter cold weather just so all of us could be warm! We should all be grateful.
I didn’t realize SO many people have dealt with the “no shows” of oil delivery with this company, until I have read the previous reviews! This tells me that I am not overreacting and it’s a common theme with them…and the second time I have dealt with the horrible response times and no shows. The first time they pulled a no-show I ended up running out of oil because of them! So I ordered oil on a Thursday and needed a restart (due to my own negligence)…never received a call the following day, so I decided to call the office, she told me they will not be able to deliver my oil until Tuesday of the following week…because “they won’t be out this way” until then. I live on Rte 69…in BRISTOL!!! I then made sure she was aware it was only 10 degrees out (wind chill was below zero) and we were extremely cold already, she repeated again her reasoning. Then mentioned to make sure there was no dog 💩 near and to make sure her driver had a clear path from the main road to the oil pipe… I explained to her due to the significant snow and ice storm we had just had that I would make him a safe path from the driveway to the oil pipe instead. The plows made the Snowbanks on the side of the highway very treacherous. Immediately called Springbrook oil company located out of New Britain, explained to them everything that happened, And just before closing time, they made a special trip all the way to my house near Bristol Central… FROM NEW BRITAIN… To come restart my furnace after I added some diesel in my tank just to keep us warm over the weekend. Now it’s Tuesday…he shows up To deliver my oil, parks on route 69 in a Busy section of the highway proceeds to walk up the icy snowbank and made his own path to the oil pipe anyway, disregarding my specific instructions so that he stayed safe! Save yourself the hassle, call Springbrook Oil. Their customer service is top-notch, down to earth, extremely friendly people and the last thing they want is any customer, new or old to be cold or go without having a shower!!
