Buckley Brothers is a family-run plumbing, heating, and cooling company that's worked out of 56 Edmund Street in Malden since 1987, run by Paul Buckley, serving Malden and nearby Greater Boston communities including Melrose, Medford, Everett, Revere, and a dozen more towns. The company describes itself as family owned and operated — "you're not calling a call center or a franchise," its site says. What stands out across 34 Google ratings averaging 4.9 and 28 reviews on file is how often reviewers name the actual person who showed up: Andrew coordinating a plumbing job that grew into a full multi-trade renovation, Joe fixing a gas leak without cutting into a wall after two other plumbers said they'd need to, Ian pumping out a flooded basement after hours and diagnosing a failed water heater in the same visit, and Luke and Jacob knocking out two separate jobs in the same week. One customer, a small contractor himself for 40 years, says he's used them for every job and every emergency since his own plumber retired; another has stuck with them for five years across a two-family home. The state's license registry confirms an active Massachusetts sheet metal license (341-SM-B) held by Buckley Brothers Inc, and the work described spans emergency calls, water heater and boiler replacement, gas piping, and the plumbing side of full bathroom and kitchen renovations — not just quick fixes. Worth asking about before booking: the Better Business Bureau rates them B-, specifically for not responding to one filed complaint. It's the one blemish on an otherwise clean, closely-read record, and worth raising directly rather than assuming it's been resolved. For anything from a same-day leak to a full plumbing overhaul of an older home, this is a company people keep calling back and asking for by name — just confirm that outstanding complaint has been sorted out before you book.
First time using Buckley Brothers, very pleased with their work and their workers. It was a difficult job in our old house. Will definitely call Buckley Brothers for future jobs.
Buckley Brothers consistently deliver excellent service work on all my projects. 10/10 recommend
Buckley brothers has been taking care of us for 30 or more years! All personnel are superby qualified and have maintained us in a 120 year old house! Prices are good! they show up immediately in emergencies of which I have many over the years. They only sell you what you need and give good advice about alternatives. Integrity, competence, fairness, responsive! On reflection. they are very inexpensive compared with what others have told me about their costs with other plumbing companies. They have maintained my heating system!
Very happy with the work done today. Plumber showed up in the time frame given and was quick to assess the situation. Fixed my leaky toilet and changed out everything that needed replacing. Old pipes in an old building. He was quick, clean, and professional. The kind of service you hope to get from a recommendation. So if you’re looking for a recommendation from a neighbor consider this that. Also, the women I spoke to on the phone to make the appointment has great phone etiquette. 10/10 with this place. Price was in the range I expected, maybe slightly on the higher end but it was worth it for the quick work done
