Castlemaine Construction is basically synonymous with one name: across nearly every review, clients talk about hiring Morgan directly rather than "a company." Based in Dorchester Center, the business describes itself as a carpentry and home-renovation/repair/construction contractor and says on its own site that it's served Boston and the South Shore area since 1999. Recent hires point to the same pattern that runs through the longer history: responsiveness and follow-through on jobs of very different sizes. In April, one homeowner said Morgan got their house market-ready quickly; a February client who used the crew at both a rental and a primary residence called the whole team, workers and office staff alike, responsive and skilled enough to hire again for anything from small repairs to larger additions. That range, small fixes up through bigger builds, is the throughline in the older record too: several clients describe relationships running 15 to 20-plus years, spanning finish carpentry and framing, deck work, exterior painting, and full gut renovations including a kitchen and bathroom addition. Not every account is positive. Of the reviews collected, one stands apart: a dispute over the scope and completion of a carpentry job, with the homeowner unhappy about how subcontracted work was overseen and finished. It's an outlier against an otherwise long, consistent run of repeat business, but worth knowing before signing a contract with an unclear scope. Castlemaine reads like the call for carpentry-driven renovation work, from a single repaired stair to a whole-house rebuild, backed by clients who've used the crew repeatedly over many years. Given the one scope dispute on record, it's worth pinning down exactly what's included in writing, and who is actually doing the work, before the crew starts.

I hired Morgan to do work at both my rental property and primary residence. His entire team, from workers to his office personnel were incredibly responsive, professional and highly skilled. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone doing small repairs to large additions. They are great!

Outstanding work. Delivered on time and very responsive. Will work to understand requirements, and deliver less expensive options if needed.

They have me a reasonable price . They showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, but paid attention to detail. The crew didn't know this but I was a tradesman back in the day so I have an idea of what should be done. I watched most of their work. I was very pleased with their work. Their boss was honest ,personable ,and extremely knowledgeable. They cleaned up and did not leave so much as a splinter of wood on my grass . A few years have passed and their work is still flawless . I would use their services again.

I have worked with Castlemaine Construction for over 15 years. Morgan is a hard worker, quite skilled and professional. He painted our home many years ago and it has held up without incident. Castlemaine replaced the deck a few years back as well. Morgan always responds to inquires and often will stop by when he is in the neighborhood just to check in. I recommend Morgan and Castlemaine Construction without any reservation.
