"The unknown sub-contractors" is how one homeowner described Clean Tech Construction in a May 2025 review — the crew that turned up for a National Grid / Mass Save efficiency upgrade he had arranged with somebody else, set his expectations, then beat them. That is a lot of this Braintree company's work: insulation and air sealing delivered through the Mass Save program, where the homeowner meets the installers on the day. A customer writing in July 2026 had exterior wall insulation put in over the previous winter with Mass Save paying 75 percent, and said the company was clear from the start about what the job involved. The installers get named. Tiago, Everton and Walter finished a house in two days in November 2025 and left the inside and outside in good order. Kevin and Steve worked a tight crawl space and a hard-to-reach attic and roof in October 2025. Chris, Steve and Jamal weatherized a two-unit condo's attic in August 2025 in outside temperatures above 90 degrees. That same month another customer had a blower door test run before and after the work to confirm the efficiency gain, and in March 2026 an Angi reviewer had old insulation pulled out and replaced, including areas a previous company had not managed to reach. Not every site has gone that way. In May 2024 a customer found cigarettes and nails left across the driveway and yard and a broken hose. In October 2024 another said a crew tried to install insulation in a basement full of leaves, and that the supervisor treated him as the problem rather than the dirty insulation. In April 2025 a homeowner on a RISE Engineering energy upgrade described mistakes, a failure to clean up and staff who were not on the same page internally. Google's average across 30 ratings is 4.3. Two more things to know before calling. Bill Davidson and Joel Perez started the company about four years ago after 25 years in the installation business, and the site's own pages also advertise "since 2005", "25 years of experience" and "35 years of experience" — figures that describe the founders' careers, not the firm's. And the Massachusetts paperwork is in order: home improvement contractor registration #212828 is active on the state registry, and the state's Supplier Diversity Office lists an active Minority Business Enterprise certification running to February 2028. A one-star review from March 2026 is not about a job at all — another business writes that it received harassing text messages and was blocked after speaking to the owner. For attic, wall or crawl-space insulation, especially a job routed through Mass Save, this is a crew doing that exact work week in and week out. Ask who the site lead will be and what the daily protection and cleanup look like, and get that written down before the truck arrives.
This past winter Clean Tech Construction added wall insulation to our house from the outside. They did the work through Mass Save, which paid for 75% of it. Clean Tech Construction made it very clear about what we were getting into, which was important because in our case about half of our siding is vertical so they had to drill a hole roughly 3 inches in diameter about every 2 feet halfway around the outside of the house, and we would need to touch up the paint afterwards. They did the work on a Friday, and even though it was getting dark outside as they finished they cleaned up really well afterwards. Because it was dark when they were done they weren’t able to cover up the holes with spackle before they left, so they actually sent someone over on Saturday morning to do it, which we really appreciated. They did a blower door test before and after the insulation and found the insulation cut the air infiltration in half. Our house felt a lot cozier this winter because of it. My partner and I were very pleased with the job.
Hard workers, fair prices, good communication. Tough to beat.
I had a great experience with this company. The crew they had working at my house was very professional, respectful, and hardworking throughout the entire job. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I fully understood everything that was going on every step of the way.
Phenomenal insulation job by the Clean Tech Solutions team. Rooms are warmer, heating bills are lower, highly recommend to anyone looking to do the same at their home or office.
From setting up the work date from the office, to the great crew who completed the insulation work in our attic and basement I would highly recommend Clean Tech Construction. Easy to work with and left our home neat and clean when they finished.
