Fifteen years after Gerry DiPierro remodeled a Boston kitchen, the customer noticed the cabinet over the fridge pulling away from the ceiling and emailed him about it. His reply, quoted in a 2025 review: "I'll send a guy over to fix it" — and someone came. That long tail is what DiPierro's repeat customers write about. DiPierro Construction is a family-run general contractor in Boston with Gerry DiPierro as the principal. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active and its Better Business Bureau page is an A+. The work runs to kitchens and baths, window replacement, additions, brownstone renovation, decks and insurance restoration across Greater Boston, and the company says it is a Lead Safe Renovator. Where it plainly earns its money is on projects that have to get through the City of Boston. A 2024 customer described a two-bedroom addition built in a condo backyard with very limited site access and credited the team's experience with Boston ISD for getting the permits through. In a 2023 review, the owner of an apartment building said Gerry dealt with Historic while putting two balconies into a back alley, on time and at a competitive quote. A 2025 customer wrote that their roof deck turned into far more permitting work than anyone expected and Gerry stuck with it. The everyday accounts echo each other: a clear estimate first, then a schedule the crew keeps. Reviews from March 2026 describe a large deck renovation and a round of home repairs, a pocket door among them, with updates as the work went. Another 2025 customer had water damage in her unit repaired while she was away — thoroughly, she wrote, and within budget. Several people say they kept the company on afterwards for handyman-scale jobs. The complaint here is about the front end, not the build. In a 2022 review, a homeowner said DiPierro came out to discuss a closet remodel, promised photos and designs in a few days, and never followed up despite repeated assurances from the office. A second one-star review from the same period says only "terrible company". Google's average sits at 4.3 across 37 ratings. Get the estimate in writing with dates on it, and if the follow-up goes quiet, call the office rather than waiting. One loose end: nobody can agree how old this company is. Its BBB page dates the business to 1988, the "Year Established" field on its own About page says 2006, other copy on the site claims over three decades, Houzz self-reports more than 25 years and Angi 19. For an addition, a deck, or a renovation in a Boston building with a permit or a landmarks problem attached, this is a shop that has been through it before — settle the estimate and the start date in writing before you commit.
