DuraGutter makes an extruded aluminum architectural gutter system, and its website names David Hornstein as its founder. A 2022 article on finehomebuilding.com says Light House Design's David Hornstein ended up manufacturing his own extruded aluminum gutter. Houzz lists gutter installation and gutter repair among its services. It holds 5 stars from 2 Google ratings. In a 2025 Google review about overflow from a flat roof into an existing curved gutter, DuraGutter was asked for a curved oversized gutter; they convinced the reviewer there was possibly a better and much cheaper solution, explained that the downspout may be what cannot handle the flow from the gutter, and explained how to install an oversized downspout, which they do not sell. Another 2025 review called it a very good job.
“Light House Design’s David Hornstein ended up manufacturing his own extruded aluminum gutter with a profile identical to the Boston patte”
Called Duragutter for a problem with overflow from a flat roof into an existing curved gutter and asked for a curved oversized gutter to fix the problem. They convinced me there was possibly a better and much cheaper solution and then carefully explained how it may be the downspout that cannot handle the flow from the gutter and explained the details of how I could install an oversized downspout (not sold by them). This is surprising and much appreciated potential customer support and I couldn't be happier with the conversation.
Very good job
