A July 2026 customer called Durfee about a water-heater problem just after noon and said hot water was restored by four. Durfee Plumbing & Heating is based in South Dennis; its website describes a family-owned company run by Phil Durfee that has served Cape Cod for more than 20 years. Google shows a 4.6-star average from 166 ratings. Recent customers describe water-heater repairs and replacement, gas-pipe replacement, air-conditioning repair, and an outdoor-shower installation. An April 2026 customer said a leaking water heater was replaced by noon the next day and called the price reasonable. A May customer praised a gas-pipe job completed as estimated, after an estimate visit the previous day. A July customer said workers started with the least expensive fixes and got a pump working again. Pricing draws specific complaints too. A May 2026 reviewer reported a $700 charge for a leaking faucet. Another May customer praised responsiveness but described difficulty obtaining an accurate estimate and considered a short repair visit overpriced. In a December 2025 review, a customer reported an $815 quote for a valve replacement, paid a $149 dispatch fee, declined the repair, and said another company completed it for about a third of the quoted price. A May 2026 customer said replacing two toilet seals cost more than $1,000. The reviewer alleged one seal leaked again after a return visit, that the worker scratched a marble floor and left a mess, and that a promised further visit was cancelled for an emergency job. Reviews from September and October 2025 also describe paying $500 and waiting months for an estimate. Older complaints include an August 2024 reviewer who said furnace maintenance cost $1,525 and covered only one of two furnaces. That customer reported notice of a $655 credit but remained dissatisfied. A separate customer describing May 2023 work alleged a gas leak after workers moved a stove to access a pipe in a wall. The customer said National Grid warned against using the stove until repair, and that Durfee returned two days later and fixed the leak without charge.
