Jefferson gives the estimate and the crew arrives — that sequence is what Empire Building Construction's customers describe, over and over, almost always about a roof. A homeowner who had put off replacing hers for years because she dreaded the mess wrote in August 2025 that the crew changed her mind about what a tear-off feels like. Another, in January 2026, said the estimate came quickly and on time and that the team sent out did the complete roof replacement as agreed.
The company is Massachusetts-based and says it has been roofing, siding, building decks and renovating homes across Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island since 2017. Jeff and Vera are the two names customers use — Vera in the office, Jeff on the job. The work reaches past shingles: in May 2026 a customer had the roof replaced and vinyl siding put on both the house and the garage of a 100-plus-year-old home, and in June 2026 another had skylights fitted alongside a new roof. An August 2025 reviewer listed siding, roofing, windows, PVC and gutters among the jobs he had hired Empire for.
Two kinds of customer recur. A general contractor wrote in August 2025 that he uses Empire often and singled out how the crew cleans up. A homeowner said Empire was brought in through her solar panel company to do the roof under the array. If you arrive through a solar installer or a GC, you may not be the one setting the terms.
The Google page shows 37 ratings and every one is five stars. The written ones arrive in clusters — sixteen posted on 20 and 21 August 2025, seven more across four days that January — and one from December 2025 still carries the Portuguese instruction line left over from the translation used to write it.
Empire's own site describes the company as a registered Massachusetts home improvement contractor. For a roof, siding or a skylight, this is a crew customers describe as fast, tidy and on the price quoted. Ask for the HIC registration number and a written scope before the deposit — and check which Empire you are calling, because a Thumbtack profile under the name Empire Construction advertises a three-person framing and finish-carpentry shop in Everett, not the roofing company these reviews describe.
