ProTEK Painters

People who hire ProTEK Painters tend to hire them again. An October 2025 reviewer called the company their go-to painters for 25 years, and a June 2024 customer in Acton said the exterior ProTEK painted 11 years earlier had held up well. The Newton, Massachusetts painting company says it has been owner-operated by John Guarino since 1999, with John estimating each job himself, and it holds 4.9 stars from 115 Google ratings, 4.8 from 113 on Angi and an A+ from the BBB as an accredited business. The exterior jobs are often old, big houses. In June 2024, a customer described an 1894 three-family house with wood siding unpainted for about 20 years, brought back by John's painters and carpenters. An August 2022 reviewer had a two-unit Victorian's exterior painted while new railings and balusters went on three porches. Other reviews describe pressure washing, rotted woodwork replaced before painting, and decks re-stained. Inside, customers mention wallpaper removal, textured plaster ceilings smoothed, and in April 2026 a kitchen repainted including all the cabinets. The one serious complaint is from June 2020. A customer who paid $10,700 said the work was done on time and professionally, but four years later the paint was peeling all around the house. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #190428, held by ProTEK Property Solutions, Inc, is active on the state registry.
