Furniture Design Services

Furniture Design Services is a Peabody shop built around one thing: cabinetry and millwork precise enough for high-end residential and commercial jobs, with a second facility in Winchendon. Founded in the spring of 2001 by Chris Rice — a RIT-trained woodworker who cut his teeth at a Boston-area commercial shop — the company says it has grown to a team of 25 under his leadership. The reviews that exist back that up. One from early 2026 describes working with Charlie and the team across multiple projects, calling the cabinetry well-built and thoughtfully detailed, with strong attention to fit and finish. An earlier one, from 2022, calls it a mill shop willing to think outside the box on custom projects. Google shows a 3.9★ average across 7 ratings. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. There are only a couple of written reviews to go on so far, alongside a handful of directory listings with no customer text — so treat this as a directional read rather than an exhaustive one. Worth a call if you want cabinetry, millwork, or furniture built to spec rather than off the shelf; confirm current lead times and pricing before committing, since neither is mentioned by past customers.
