A recent Google customer said Harrison Refrigeration & Appliances installed a new microwave and removed the old one, arriving by 11am inside a 10am-1pm window and finishing by noon. A 2025 Reddit commenter in r/boston called it a really small appliance store in Hyde Park with both used and new inventory, said it also does installs and has its own plumber for gas, and said they got a washer and dryer through it. The consumer site prudentreviews.com has quoted the company naming GE, GE Profile and Bosch as the most reliable refrigerator brands. A 2025 customer said Will, the repair tech, came out the same afternoon on a Saturday, diagnosed a dead switch in a washer that stopped draining, installed a replacement, and had the washer drained within 20 minutes. In a 2025 review, a customer said Cesar, the service tech, had a relay part on hand and their 20-year Thermidor refrigerator was fixed. A 2024 customer said Cesar repaired a refrigerator with ice building up from a clogged drain, then on a second visit fixed an improper dryer installation. A 2023 customer wrote that another company wanted to replace the main board of a Kenmore side-by-side for $650, while Harrison replaced the defrost thermostat in 45 minutes for 170 and fixed the issue. On the sales side, a 2024 customer said Peter helped select a new dishwasher and, when Bosch could not expedite a replacement part, made sure they did not go weeks without one. A 2022 customer said Peter sent a plumber over on a Saturday to fix a jerry-rigged connection. A 2025 customer said Will fixed a washing machine blocked by a small sock in 20 minutes with no parts needed, but called the $225 bill steep after an $85 service quote. A 2024 customer questioned $200 in labor for a water filter fix that took 20 minutes with no parts. A 2025 customer said the worker who came out for $180 tried replacing one part, declared "there was a short somewhere" and offered the $180 toward a new model; that customer then fixed the fridge with a $45 part. A 2023 customer said a dryer repair booked a week in advance brought neither a visit nor a courtesy call. A 2024 customer said they had been trying to get a freezer fixed for months, with appointments not honored and the freezer still faulty. In 2026, a customer said the person on the phone started yelling during an attempt to reschedule a washer/dryer consultation.

Very happy with my experience! The prices were very reasonable, and they did a great job installing my new microwave and removing the old one. They gave me an install window of 10am-1pm, and were there by 11am, and finished by noon. Will definitely use them in the future for any other appliance needs.
We had used them for years, but I recently had a terrible experience on the phone with them trying to reschedule a consultation for our washer/dryer. They have lost our business. It is unfortunate, but the person started yelling at me and told me I was lying about who canceled what, but it really didn’t matter - we wanted to make an appointment, but it was like this hostile thing and exhausting. So yeah….I never even write reviews but it was too much.
The guy came out for $180, tried replacing the one part that he could reach without having to bend over, then declared that "there was a short somewhere" that would be impossible to find. "But," he offered, "you can use the $180 toward the purchase of a new model." Instead of doing that, I watched a single youtube video about fridge repair, then bent down to look for the part of the fridge that was making the obviously broken-sounding high pitched whine, then googled its part number and bought a new one for $45. That fixed it, instantly. I didn't even need a screw driver. So their business model, it seems, is to half-ass the repair in order to lock you in, and then they sell you a new one for much more money than you'd pay elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if they then refurbish your old one and sell it on the side.
Will came out to look at the washing machine that stopped working. Was quoted $85 for the service and plus parts. Will fixed the machine within 20 mins no parts needed. There was a blockage because of a small sock. Machine working again. But $225 was steep. Labor no parts needed $140 for 20 mins. Will is a good service guy and knows his stuff. But expect to pay top dollar. Overall I would recommend Harrison Refrigeration because Peter is always very helpful and they are local.
I've used Harrison for purchasing appliances as well as repairs for 7 years now. Peter is thorough and friendly with customer service. Their contractors are on time, careful and reliable.
