He runs a one-employee plumbing and heating shop there, and the company's site says it has been at it for 15 years, working Bourne, Sagamore, Sagamore Beach, Pocasset, North Falmouth, Sandwich and East Wareham. Its Massachusetts plumber licence is active on the state registry, held under James White Plumbing and Heating LLC. The written history sits on one platform and stops in the spring of 2023: eight Angi reviews averaging 5.0, running 2020 to 2023, with the star distribution at 100% five-star. HomeAdvisor's identical 5.0 is those same eight reviews republished, not a second set of customers. Four of the eight turn on timing. A 2023 customer said he moved his schedule around to fix the problem as soon as possible; a 2020 homeowner described him coming out after 5:00 pm on a Friday and leaving the work area spotless. Price comes up twice — the 2021 toilet customer called his pricing competitive, and a 2022 reviewer said he came in under everyone else. The October 2020 account is the one that says the most about how he works: a couple new to the area met James through their general contractor, and when that contractor walked away, James kept working with them and got his own work done. His site advertises emergency plumbing service, while the Angi profile says the opposite — no emergency service, and no warranties — so ask which holds today. The profiles also disagree on experience: 15 years on the website, seven years on Angi and HomeAdvisor. And read the BBB A+ for what the bureau says it is — a grade based on length of time in business, on a file opened 10/23/2023 for a business that is not BBB accredited. For a straightforward residential plumbing job, a water heater, or a boiler around Bourne and the Upper Cape, he is a sensible call: one plumber, doing the work himself, with a run of five-star write-ups from 2020 to 2023 behind him. Confirm before booking whether he takes after-hours calls and what happens if the job needs a return visit.
