Fifteen Google ratings, every one of them five stars, and in almost all of them the same name: Kevin. KMK Roofing is a five-person Woburn shop where the owner, Kevin Keane, is the person who turns up to look at your roof. The work is residential re-roofing — strip and reshingle, rubber for the flat sections, plus gutters, gutter guards and skylights, and windows and siding on the Better Business Bureau's list. Building permit records show 189 permitted jobs over the company's life, at a typical value around $13,500, including two in Marblehead in 2023: Leo Road in May and Madison Road in March. The company says it was founded in 1980 and does not subcontract; the Better Business Bureau records a sole proprietorship started in 1984 with five employees. What makes the reviews worth trusting is that they argue for themselves. A March 2026 customer described a replacement that started and finished on schedule with the site cleaned afterwards. In a November 2025 review a homeowner recounted a winter leak that Kevin first patched, then diagnosed properly — replace the front roof, given its age and where the water was getting in — and the job eventually turned up mould in the attic and plywood that had to come out. An April 2024 customer specifically preferred that KMK patched the leak the day after signing and waited for better weather rather than pushing an immediate full replacement, and noted the estimate included a higher-model peak vent for an area with a history of humidity and a zinc strip for a small roof that gets little sun. Those are the details of somebody who was actually on the roof. Speed comes up repeatedly. A July 2023 customer said Kevin returned the call the same day, quoted the next morning, and had a crew there that afternoon to beat incoming heavy rain; the patch held. A March 2024 reviewer with a leak in a four-year-old roof said it was identified and fixed within a day and had survived three straight days of rain. Two things to check before you call. The company prints Massachusetts registration numbers HIC# 101742 and LIC# 100451 on its own website, but those are self-reported and BuildZoom's page records that it was 'unable to verify this license with the licensing board' — confirm both numbers directly with the Office of Consumer Affairs. And its permitted volume has dropped sharply, from five jobs in 2023 to one in 2024, so ask about current capacity and lead times. The Better Business Bureau grades the business A+, though it is not a BBB accredited business — separate facts, both true. For a straightforward reshingle or a leak that needs diagnosing rather than upselling, this is a strong small-shop option. Get the registration numbers confirmed and the warranty terms in writing.

Very happy to have Kevin and his crew working on my roof replacement! They started and finished on schedule, fixed every issues in details; clean up the field after work. And, the price for the job was very honest and reasonable. We are very satisfied with their work, and strongly recommend KMK for your roofing project!

KMK roofing is awesome. I had a leak this past winter. I had hopes that a few blown off shingles was the cause...but sadly for me it was not KMK roofing came to fix the leak and blown off shingles. When the problem was still there during one of the next storms- Kevin told me the best course of action was to replace the roof on the front of the house due to where the issue was, the age of the roof and what he had seen. I was hesitant at first, but I trusted him 100%. As we got further into the job - boy was he right. We eventually found mold in the attic and we had to remove the plywood. When the old roof was taken off, they found multiple problems with the construction where the air was not ventilating enough. They cut bigger ridge vents, they put in new soffits for better circulation and they cut back the baffles which were installed poorly and blocking airflow. Through all of this they showed me what was going on, explained things to me that I never knew about roofing and educated me to better care for things in the future. They also took the initial work they did when I thought it was just missing shingles - and put that money as credit to my overall bill for the full roof job they did. Beyond the quality of their work and their willingness to come to my house on short notice to assess the leak (reducing my stress) - all of this was happening in the dead of winter. They did this work in very cold temps. Their team was amazing in how they braved the cold and how they made it work through all of the trouble we have in this area with Snow, ice and cold during the frigid days of December and January! Now, I have a new roof and I'm confident if I ever need help - I can call KMK and I will get quality service from a group of guys that responded fast, treated me with respect, treated me fairly, did quality work and helped put my mind at ease. When the back side of my house needs work - they are my first call! Photos show the ridge vent was cut unevenly by the original builder and the mold/Moisture on the plywood - in both instances KMK explained to me what this was, why it mattered, what caused it and what do to do about it - and then they fixed it!

Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from KMK Roofing. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

Typical roofing project around $13,800
