Lighthouse Construction Co is a Boston general contractor whose work spans everyday remodels and larger jobs — its own site points to the Salem Arch restoration, a full remodel of the Beverly Train Station, and a remodel of Abby Lane in Boston as recent projects, alongside routine residential and commercial work. The handful of reviews on file, all several years old now, describe careful, communicative work. A 2017 reviewer said Lighthouse handled a kitchen and bathroom job at a reasonable price and caught structural issues other contractors had missed, repairing them cheaply. A 2020 reviewer, hiring for a smaller roof-and-ceiling project, called the crew courteous, on time and responsive, and said anything they were unhappy with got fixed. A third, from 2016, is a one-line pan — "terrible, hire someone else" — with no detail given. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, license 137665 held by Stephen Stoddard Jr., is registry-verified active through September 2027. BuildZoom's own listing for the same license number tells a different story: it shows the license expired as of September 2025 and reports, citing Massachusetts consumer affairs records, that it was at one point cancelled — the two sources disagree. BuildZoom also lists ten permitted projects over the years (four in the last three), ranging from a $2,000 porch-column repair to a $177,018 kitchen, bath and porch rebuild, plus roofing, decks and a restaurant buildout.

I just used Lighthouse Construction for a small-ish construction project related to my roof and ceilings upstairs. They were courteous, neat, on time, responsive, professional, and and more. My questions were answered. When I was unhappy with anything, they fixed it. The communication and work were great!
I had a good experience with Lighthouse Construction doing my kitchen and bathroom this summer. The price was very reasonable and the workers were very nice and helpful. They actually found some some structural issues which were ignored/overlooked by other contractors’ which they repaired for cheap money! Thanks Steve and workers!
