Fifteen pulled permits and two reviews. That gap is the whole story of N&B General Contracting, a Methuen general contractor run by Nicolas Branchina out of 330 Merrimack Street. The permit trail is the substantial part: BuildZoom counts 15 permitted jobs stretching back to 2005 and spread across Methuen, Lowell, Arlington, Cambridge, Burlington and Waltham — additions, porches, roofs, kitchens and baths. That is a real, long working history in the Merrimack Valley and inner suburbs, and it puts the company near the top of BuildZoom's Massachusetts rankings. What is missing is customers talking. Only two reviews exist anywhere we could reach, both from 2022, both five stars, both about porch and deck work. Nothing since. No Google, Yelp, Angi or Houzz presence turned up under this name, and no company website. Two four-year-old reviews cannot carry a rating, which is why this one sits mid-scale and uncertain rather than high. Two things to raise before you sign. BuildZoom displays an unpaid-debt alert on the company's profile — ask about it directly. And of the three Massachusetts home improvement contractor registrations BuildZoom lists for the business, it reports two as inactive and at one point cancelled, with only the third, #180694, checked as active in March 2026. That is a directory's account, not a confirmation, so look up the current number yourself on the state's Consumer Affairs site before any money changes hands. The right call here is verification, not enthusiasm: a contractor with a genuine permit history worth asking references for, and a paper trail worth checking first.

He winterized a three season porch. The room is now tight so I can use it all year. He put a new wall board, painted the walls, put in new windows, put up a new ceiling and laid down a new wood floor. The room in is beautiful and is finally usable. He did beautiful work. He is very professional, organized and works clean. I would highly recommend him.
