Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from On the Level Construction, LLC. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Estimated range
$23,000 – $35,000
Typical remodeling project around $29,000
Twice, customers have gone out of their way to describe the quote. A 2022 customer said the trim-work estimate arrived with pictures of exactly what was included; a May 2023 customer said Mark's proposal documented the whole scope in photos, and the job then landed on time and on budget. On the South Shore that turns out to matter: a September 2023 customer had hired someone else first, paid up front on a promise of full-time attention, and watched him disappear for two months before On the Level finished the remodel. On the Level Construction is Mark's company, based in Abington and working through Weymouth, Hingham, Rockland, Hanover, Marshfield and Bridgewater. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 195943, is active on the state registry. The site says it has served South Shore homeowners for over 20 years; the HomeAdvisor profile says 26. Most of the work is the outside of a house and the things fixed to it — decks, trim, siding, gutters, doors and windows, roofs. A May 2026 customer had two shingle jobs done, storm-damaged aluminium trim repaired, and most recently a paver walkway. A November 2025 customer had an old deck replaced and built the way he wanted it. In March 2025 a homeowner had a stairwell planned and replaced, and said Jordan asked her opinion as he built and changed anything she didn't like. A 2023 customer had a vapour barrier and damaged siding repaired on the side of the house. Speed of response comes up constantly. A December 2023 customer had a quote back fast and the work scheduled inside the week, finished before the holidays; another that month said that unlike the others he called, Mark rang back. A July 2023 customer with a time-sensitive job was squeezed into a busy schedule. The one detailed complaint is about finish. In February 2026 a customer whose hardie-board trim was replaced said the trim went on well but the caulking was poor; the crew returned and improved it, and he still did not think it looked as it should. Across 100 HomeAdvisor ratings, 91 per cent are five stars and one in twenty sits at three or below. For a deck, siding, trim or a roof repair on the South Shore, this is an owner-run crew whose customers describe a written scope and a callback. Ask for the proposal with the photos in it — two customers named that as the reason they hired — and be specific in it about caulking and finish.
Mark at OTL is great to work with.Always quick to return calls and give estimates.I’ve used them for 2 roofing shingle jobs, also to repair aluminum trim from storm damage.Latest work was a paver walkway.Quality work, professional and clean up from work is terrific.Would recommend.
Very nice people who replaced trim on our house which has hardy board siding. They replaced the trim well but 3 stars because they did a poor caulking job. They returned to correct things, and it looks better but not how it should look. They're probably good at many other jobs.
Mark and his crew did a great job at a reasonable job replacing our old deck. It is a well build deck now and customized the way we wanted it. Thanks, Mark
He was great
Mark and his team showed up on time and got the work done in less than a day at a reasonable price. Would definitely hire them again if a new project arises. A++
