The East Falmouth business started in 2004 and is a sole proprietorship, with Kirkwood Haughton listed as its owner on its BBB profile. The work is hardwood: installation, sanding, staining and refinishing. Those written reviews run from 2017 to 2019. In a November 2019 review, a homeowner who was out of state during the job said Pete kept them up to date with texts and photos as he progressed, and described quality work at a reasonable price. The two 2017 reviews describe the same kind of attention — one said old, beat-up floors were transformed and that Pete was prompt and meticulous; the other called him reliable and honest, and said he handled repair and trim work as well as the floors. Its BBB page carries an A+ letter grade, which is the bureau's own grade rather than an accreditation; the profile notes the company is not BBB accredited. If you have tired hardwood you would rather refinish than replace, this is a fair outfit to get a number from. Ask what the scope covers — board repairs, trim, how many coats of finish, how long before the furniture comes back — and ask for a certificate of insurance before the sanders start.
