Verified record
Profix Masonry, Waterproofing & Restoration is an Arlington-based mason and waterproofer run by an owner named John, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration — held under Profix Masonry & Restoration Corp — is currently listed as expired. Google shows 4.8 stars across 26 ratings. Most of the written record describes hands-on stone and concrete work done well: John and his crew rebuilt steps a previous contractor had left "completely dilapidated," in a 2024 review, taking on a repair other companies had called unfixable and reportedly getting the result close to new. Basement waterproofing jobs get described in specific terms too — cracked foundation walls concreted and sealed, with reviewers confirming weeks later, through rain and snow, that the leaking had stopped. A driveway repave is described as more than a resurfacing: John is said to have flagged underlying drainage and pooling problems under a walkway and patio rather than just paving over them, and replaced what needed replacing. There's a real exception, though. In an early-2025 review, a homeowner describes a driveway patch caving in within a week, a front-step patch left an inch short of the ground, excavation debris buried under the deck or left where it was dug, and no response after repeated requests to fix it — a sharply different account from the rest of the record, and one worth weighing directly against the specific, detailed praise elsewhere. With an expired contractor registration and one serious complaint alongside a strong run of specific, positive accounts, it's worth confirming the license status directly and asking to see recent work before booking.

I called Roy out to fix a crack in my foundation and stop water getting into my basement, and he also offered to redo some of the stone on my front steps. The driveway patch he did started to cave in about a week after he left. For the front steps they didn't do the patch to the ground, so it stops about an inch high and looks terrible. All the debris from digging was either put under my deck or left where they dug. Now he won't respond to my requests to this fixed. Shoddy workmanship, through and through.
Professional and experienced profix and team are incredible for helping me and my wife awesome job would highly recommend
I got profix masonry to come out and give us a free estimate on my pool and patio I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Boston area awesome job guys very professional and clean thank you profix
johnand his team did a PHENOMENAL job repairing our steps that were completely dilapidated from a previous company who built them. Most other companies said it wouldn’t be possible to repair them due to how significant the cracks and settling was, but profix was up for the challenge and set the right expectations on the end result. i wasn’t expecting it to be perfect because of how poor condition the steps were in, but we were THRILLED at how close to new they made the steps look. They truly underpromised and over delivered. They were responsive, friendly, on-time, clean, and incredibly professional from start to finish. It’s hard to find a company that does what they say they’re going to do and exceeds expectations, and I highly recommend using profix for a project like this to get it done the right way.
Great service very friendly would recommend
