When a house hit 94 degrees on a holiday weekend, R & E Heating and Air Conditioning, LLC had two technicians there within about 90 minutes of the call, and the central air was working again within 30 minutes. That is the kind of job this heating and cooling company is hired for: air conditioning that quits in the heat and furnaces or boilers that stop in the cold. A recent customer whose AC stopped before a heatwave said a technician named Danny came out first thing the next morning and had it running by 10am. On the heating side, a recent customer whose heat stopped said R&E came out the same day after another company cancelled on them, and the problem turned out to be faulty wiring done by that other company. A 2026 customer said Dan determined that an overheating furnace was a thermostat issue, and the problem was solved with minimal cost. A 2026 customer who first used the company in 2020 to add air conditioning to an existing warm air system said a furnace that failed in the middle of the night got a response within half an hour. The company's website calls heating repair its specialty and lists free estimates and 24/7 emergency service. A 2025 customer said Matt came within an hour on a Saturday to get a 30-year-old furnace started, and that the household then hired him to replace the furnace, water heater and air conditioner, which he and his partner did in two days. A 2025 customer said Matt Ryan suggested upgrading an old boiler and walked them through the new system after the replacement. A 2023 customer said R&E replaced an oil tank with a smaller-footprint tank so no walls had to be demolished, and that the company pulled the permit. A recent customer said Dan did yearly maintenance on an AC unit and changed the filter, and a recent customer said they use R & E for annual furnace and A/C cleaning and maintenance. A recent customer said a technician named Dan was there for barely 5 minutes, said the whole HVAC system needed replacing and charged $219, but no formal quote or report followed; the customer opened a credit card dispute, and only after that received a $14,632 quote to repair the whole system, 12 days after the visit. That customer had the system fixed by another company that quoted $4,000 for a coil replacement, and said Matt Ryan then asked for the disputed money back and threatened to take them to court. A 2025 customer said an AC system installed in 2022 never delivered adequate cold air to the first floor, and that Matt repeatedly missed scheduled appointments and had them buy a replacement damper out of pocket even though it was under warranty. A 2023 customer said the owner never followed up on a request for an estimate to replace central air.
Just had our gas boiler tuned up and serviced by the excellent team at R&E Heating and A.C. LLC. They are highly skilled, thorough, and courteous professionals who provide outstanding service and attention to detail. The entire experience was seamless from start to finish. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and knowledgeable HVAC professionals!
Horrible experience with this company. Matt Ryan approached me from a query I made in a facebook group to suggest good HVAC techs near my area. I responded and requested their service. Next day another guy named Dan came to check the system, barely was there for 5 minutes, and told the whole system is bad and the complete HVAC system needs to be replaced. Charged me $219 and told me once I take their service this money will be adjusted. But they never send me a formal quote or report on what is wrong, even after repeated messages. Finally, I started a dispute with my credit card company. After that I received a quote for $14,632 to repair the whole system. That is after 12 days after the visit. In the meantime, we couldn't wait and had called HARP, who quoted only $4000 as the coil only needed replacement and everything else was working fine (The unit is only 5 years old). We got our HVAC fixed. Then came the horror, Matt Ryan called me and asked me to refund the money that the credit card company withdraw from him because of the dispute. He also demanded $40 extra because it seems the credit card compnay charged him extra (which is a lie, and confirmed with the credit card company), and threatened to take me to court. Then started offering me to get the work done and he would match HARP's quote. I said, HVAC is fixed and I don't need service. He can take it up with the credit card company. He told me 'Its a shitty thing not to pay'. Anyways, he told the credit card company that he rendered service and I am lying. Credit card company called me, and asked me for proof, which is his quote vs HARP's quote. I provided them with all details, including all my communication with him. Credit card company ruled it in MY favor. But I withdrew the dispute because I was so frustrated with the behavior and constant messaging. I have all the proof if anyone wants. I would recommend everyone to think twice before you take their service.
