S Ponce Construction is a small Revere-based remodeling and carpentry outfit run by Saul Ponce, who the Better Business Bureau credits with about five years running the company. Homeowners hire it for additions, porches, and interior renovation work — kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, per its BuildZoom listing. The clearest read on its actual craftsmanship comes from a run of detailed 2023 reviews: one customer described Saul's crew building a porch at a fair price and coming back weeks later to address a small fix; another praised quick responses, photo updates during the job, and a clean site when work on a parent's home wrapped up. A third called the work professional and flexible. That record took a serious hit in June 2026, when a customer accused the company of doing work in Somerville without pulling permits and of putting someone else's licence on the job, calling it fraud outright. It's one account and unproven, but the specifics are pointed, and they line up with the Massachusetts registry, which lists the company's home improvement contractor registration as expired rather than active. Before booking, ask directly about current licensing and who is pulling permits — the registry shows the registration lapsed, and the 2026 complaint raises the same question. Its BBB file, by contrast, shows an A+ grade with no complaints logged there, and sources disagree slightly on where the company is based: Chelsea per BBB, Revere per BuildZoom and Houzz. For an addition or a porch, the 2023 track record is reassuring; the 2026 permit and licensing complaint isn't something to wave off, and getting a straight answer on licensing before signing is the sensible first step.
This is fraud company Saul he cheated me in a Somerville house and did every work without pulling permits He kept lying that he will submit the permits after closure and he ran away as well We lost buyer and also he uses some one else license and put them also into trouble Please don’t hire this contractor or his company you will face lot of struggle
Saul and his team did a remarkable job on my mothers home. Any questions I had, he responded immediately. Great communication! Provided photos when I needed updates. After the work was completed, they cleaned up very well. He offered suggestions when I needed it. Very happy I chose to work with him.
SP construction were professional, flexible and did excellent work. Highly recommended.
Saul and his crew did an amazing job building my porch for a very fair price. Not only was Saul responsive and professional throughout the entire process, he even came back weeks after the project was finished and after I had paid to make a small fix. I will definitely being going back to him for any future work.
