SERVPRO of North Brookfield, Hardwick, Gardner is a SERVPRO location whose website says it specializes in water and fire damage, storm and mold remediation, and construction. A recent customer said an AC unit leak soaked through the walls and damaged some insulation and carpet downstairs, and that SERVPRO came out quickly, figured out where the moisture had traveled and set up equipment to dry everything out. That customer said the crew explained what they were doing and checked the areas throughout the drying process to make sure the moisture was gone. A 2025 customer wrote that Mike and his teammates were in and out in one day and executed their plan thoroughly. A 2025 customer who called after a large kitchen fire said Mike assured the family he would check before anything was thrown away, then threw out a Nintendo with saved games without checking. That 2025 customer said the house still smelled like smoke and that soot on the ceiling was never cleaned. The same 2025 customer said the heat was repeatedly found at 70 after asking for 55-60, leaving excessive oil bills, and that no invoice or itemized list of what was thrown out had arrived.
We had an AC unit leak that ended up soaking through the walls and damaging some of the insulation and carpet downstairs. SERVPRO came out quickly, figured out where the moisture had traveled, and set up equipment to get everything properly dried out. The crew was professional, explained what they were doing, and checked the areas throughout the drying process to make sure the moisture was actually gone. They made a stressful situation a lot easier to deal with. Really happy with the work and would definitely recommend them for water damage or drying.

I had a large kitchen fire at the end of October. I called Servpro right away. Mike seemed very nice and knew what to say to make me feel comfortable. He assured me and my children that before anything was thrown away he would check with me. They cleaned for a few weeks. During this time I would go home to multiple windows open and my heat cranked up to 70. I had asked them to turn it down and keep it at 55-60 and showed Mike how to use it. Despite this I would find my heat at 70. I was told by Mike that “Don’t worry insurance will cover it” and “maybe your thermostat is broken”. Insurance does not cover it and I had my thermostat checked. I was left paying excessive oil bills. Mike didn’t check with me at all before throwing anything out. He threw out our Nintendo which had a game and a SD card with all of my and my children’s games saved on it. The response was “well he said all electronics”. I reminded him that he assured me he would call. My kids were devastated. My house still smells like smoke, there is soot on the ceiling that was never cleaned, I sent Mike pictures and he texted me back how I could clean it myself and then asked if I called a HVAC man. I pointed out how you could see the soot in his final photos as well and he agreed he saw it. He was very forceful about his contractor, I chose my own. Come to find out Mike is NOT licensed and did plumbing and electrical work without permits. He left me with multiple exposed wires with young kids and recommend I “just make the kids aware to stay away “. He told myself and my contractor that they would have been pulled had we hired his contractor. Servpros last day was 11/20, I have yet to receive any invoice or itemized list of what was thrown out. Mike said 1-2 weeks on 11/20, when I asked since it’s been over 2 weeks and was told hopefully by the end of the month EDIT TO ADD 12/29/25 The owner is the one who I was dealing with. Why would it helpful to call? I still don’t have a list, I don’t know where my shoes are AND in going through pictures that Michael sent me, there is a worker standing on my antique, upholstered chairs.
Let me just say one word… INCREDIBLE!!! Mike and his teammates at Servpro worked so hard to help me out of a serious predicament. Mike was truly very kind and understanding. He made me feel comfortable and he was nonjudgmental. Sometimes things happen in one’s family life that is just too hard physically and emotionally to deal with. Servpro really lifted a burden for myself and my family. They were in and out in just one day. They were well prepared and executed their plan thoroughly. I just can’t say enough great things about these great people! I will never forget their honesty and kindness in dealing with me and the problem at hand…Hats off to all of you! I sincerely thank you😊 Kim, Rob and Jack
