SERVPRO of Salem/Peabody/Marblehead is the crew that shows up after a house floods, burns, or grows mold — the emergency call, not a planned renovation. The 40 Google reviews on file describe everything from a burst drain flooding a basement to smoke and soot after a cellar fire, and the recurring theme in the positive accounts is speed: crews setting up drying equipment late into the night, arriving "within the hour" of a call, or starting demolition the same day the work is authorized. Individual technicians and project managers get named again and again — Bayli Claybaugh, John Duarte, Leo, Gage, and Benji among them — and reviewers consistently credit them with keeping people informed through what's usually a stressful, insurance-driven process. A 2024 review describes John Duarte, as reconstruction manager, personally catching a piece of poor-quality work during his final inspection and having it corrected the next day. But several detailed, credible complaints break the five-star pattern. A 2025 review describes a 100-square-foot bathroom restoration that took over eleven months after a failed mold test forced a full demo to the studs, citing "severe organizational and communication issues" along the way. A separate 2025 review describes being billed roughly double the original quote, with the added cost never mentioned until the invoice arrived. In a 2023 review, a customer says a job dragged on for six months and the crew threw out custom molding that wasn't damaged, and a 2022 review describes booking an inspection and then getting no follow-up for eleven days despite calling twice. The Better Business Bureau lists an A grade for the business alongside 3 complaints on file, though it is not BBB-accredited. Most jobs by count clearly go well for a company doing high-stress emergency work at this volume, but the complaints that do surface are specific and substantive rather than one-off gripes about scheduling. Before hiring, it's worth pinning down scope and price in writing up front, and asking who the single point of contact will be if the job runs into complications.
Jeremy & Benji were the best! They explained every part of the demo process while being professional, kind and efficient. They both made a stressful situation more tolerable. Well done gentlemen!
Great customer service from Art and Gabe. Very professional and knowledgeable. They explained everything and answered all my questions.
Servpro representatives were timely in all the responses for quotes, options, and project timing. The crews (painting, roofing, and carpentry) were respectful, responsible and knowledgeable. The supervisors were responsive to all questions and offered best options. Their planning was thorough and coordinated which led to the successful upgrades of our garage. Thank you ServPro
I don't like writing negative reviews, but the service I have gotten from ServPro has been negligent at best. My 100 square-foot bathroom restoration took over eleven months. My project began in September 2021 after water and black mold damage was discovered. The remediation process alone, which should have taken three weeks, lasted two months due to a slow pace and a failed mold test, culminating in a full demolition down to the studs. The subsequent restoration was a "nightmare" for us due to severe organizational and communication issues. Our chosen materials list was repeatedly lost, promises for work scheduling were unfulfilled, and a critical city inspection was never requested or paid for, despite claims to the contrary. Over the course of the project, two different project managers left the company, and we were not informed on either occasion, having to discover the changes on our own after a lack of response. After over nine months, we finally had a toilet and shower again, but the work remained incomplete. The work was finally completed after eleven months. Ultimately, the company failed to deliver on its promises and their leadership was unresponsive to my attempts to connect with them regarding the issues. ServPro's slogan, "Like it never happened," is a stark contrast to our experience, as we will forever remember exactly what happened here.
Shoutout to Zack Aaron and the entire team at SERVPRO of Salem/Peabody/Marblehead for their outstanding dedication to client care. They consistently prioritize their clients' needs and go above and beyond to assist throughout the insurance process. Grateful I could connect with Zack to help a mutual client. Thanks again!
