SERVPRO of Salem/Peabody/Marblehead is the North Shore franchise of the national restoration brand, working out of Greenledge Street in Salem. The company says it's handled fire, flood, smoke, and mold jobs in the area since 1998, and on Google it carries a 4.7-star rating across 105 ratings. The Better Business Bureau gives it an A, though the business hasn't pursued formal accreditation there. Its most recent Google reviews, all from January through March of 2026, are five stars and circle back to the same theme: people knowing what's happening and why. One customer singled out two technicians for walking through "every part of the demo process"; another described a crew of painters, roofers, and carpenters that kept a garage restoration on schedule, with project managers staying on top of quotes and timing. The picture isn't uniform, though. Three complaints sit on file with the BBB, and the broader review history includes accounts of long timelines and communication breaking down on bigger jobs. Worth asking upfront: who specifically will run your job, and what the expected timeline looks like in writing — a franchise this size can mean very different experiences depending on which crew and manager you draw. This is the call for fire, smoke, water, or mold damage rather than a planned remodel. The Salem Chamber of Commerce lists them as a member, and the North Shore history runs deep, but get the project manager and schedule pinned down before signing anything.

Jeremy & Benji were the best! They explained every part of the demo process while being professional, kind and efficient. They both made a stressful situation more tolerable. Well done gentlemen!

Servpro representatives were timely in all the responses for quotes, options, and project timing. The crews (painting, roofing, and carpentry) were respectful, responsible and knowledgeable. The supervisors were responsive to all questions and offered best options. Their planning was thorough and coordinated which led to the successful upgrades of our garage. Thank you ServPro

I don't like writing negative reviews, but the service I have gotten from ServPro has been negligent at best. My 100 square-foot bathroom restoration took over eleven months. My project began in September 2021 after water and black mold damage was discovered. The remediation process alone, which should have taken three weeks, lasted two months due to a slow pace and a failed mold test, culminating in a full demolition down to the studs. The subsequent restoration was a "nightmare" for us due to severe organizational and communication issues. Our chosen materials list was repeatedly lost, promises for work scheduling were unfulfilled, and a critical city inspection was never requested or paid for, despite claims to the contrary. Over the course of the project, two different project managers left the company, and we were not informed on either occasion, having to discover the changes on our own after a lack of response. After over nine months, we finally had a toilet and shower again, but the work remained incomplete. The work was finally completed after eleven months. Ultimately, the company failed to deliver on its promises and their leadership was unresponsive to my attempts to connect with them regarding the issues. ServPro's slogan, "Like it never happened," is a stark contrast to our experience, as we will forever remember exactly what happened here.
