It describes itself as family-owned and identifies Spencer Hallett as president. Its website claims more than a century of family-business history, while BBB lists 35 years in business. Google shows a 4.8-star average from 79 ratings; BBB gives the business an A+ grade and lists it as not accredited. Customers have described work beyond routine leaks. A January 2022 reviewer reported installation of a dedicated filtered-water faucet and a gas line for a pool, praising the workers' courtesy and efficiency. In October 2024, a customer with a leaking outdoor shower said they got an appointment within a few days and the plumber found and repaired the leaking pipe quickly. An August 2022 reviewer said the company returned a call within four hours and scheduled a plumber within 24 hours. There are also specific complaints about scheduling and charges. A January 2025 reviewer said a water-heater replacement began with a late Monday arrival, followed by a promised Tuesday visit when nobody showed. The customer said they took two days off work, received a dismissive response on the phone and were charged $2,500 for what they described as a three-to-four-hour job involving a water heater costing about $600. In July 2023, a shower-valve customer objected to paying $360 for two workers to replace a small part in about 30 minutes after the customer had opened the wall for access. They are professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and take pride in the quality of their work. Easy to schedule, great work
Water heater replacement scheduled for a Monday. They showed up late, saying another job took longer than expected. No big deal. They said the water heater work would be completed the following day on Tuesday, between 12-3. No one showed. I called at 3:06, only to be blistered by I presume Spencer. I took two days off from work to accommodate HIS schedule, and the only thing I got was sarcastic remarks like, “Hey, things happen.” If you want an entitled plumber who thinks he doesn’t need to earn your business, you’ve found him. And by the way, the water heater cost was around $600 and he charged $2,500.00 for a 3-4 hour job. I wish I made $300/hour. If you like those prices, Spencer Hallett is your guy!
