Spry Moving — legally E.A. Spry & Co., Inc. — is a Woburn, MA moving company the Spry family says it has run for four generations, handling residential local and long-distance moves, piano moving, and a sizable commercial book of office, hospital, lab and life-sciences relocations, plus its own warehousing. On Google, the company holds a 4.6★ average across 23 ratings, and the seven reviews on file lean strongly positive. The move that stands out: a 2026 review describes hauling a full household — including a heavy antique cherry corner cabinet — down 62 steps from a 4th-floor Boston condo without incident, professional enough that the receiving building's manager wrote in afterward to praise the crew. Other reviewers single out on-time arrivals, accurate quotes, and careful handling of furniture disassembly and reassembly; one says they've used Spry for more than 40 years. There's a real counterpoint on record, too: a 2022 review describes a move gone badly wrong — the owner unavailable, a warehouse worker yelling at the customer, roughly a third of the belongings arriving broken, and no room made for the truck at the site. Before booking, it's worth knowing the company's public paper trail doesn't fully line up. BBB has no letter grade for Spry — it says it doesn't have enough information to rate the business — and BBB's own file lists the company as incorporated in 1956 with 69 years in business and 5 employees, while Spry's own website claims roots back to 1916 or 1919, 'over 100 years' in Greater Boston, and a much larger operation of 20 trucks, 4 warehouses and 150,000 square feet. The company also lists a Massachusetts Public Warehouseman license and USDOT/MC numbers on its own site, but none of that has been checked against a registry — worth confirming directly.

We moved in May 2026 from Boston to Brookline, MA and used Spry Moving. It was not the easiest move for the crew as it meant carrying everything down 62 steps from our 4th floor condo in an old brownstone to the moving truck. Included in the furniture was an antique, heavy, cherry corner cabinet that was tricky to navigate out of our unit and down the stairs. The four person crew was efficient, professional and polite. After the move, the manager of the complex to which we moved sent an email to us commenting on how professional and polite the crew was and that he would recommend Spry for residents who might be moving. Thanks to Greg Spry for overseeing the move and to Nick, Jordan, Elijah and Devin for their hard work.
The crew at Spry Moving are so professional and friendly! They were so efficient in moving our furniture, including dismantling / reassembling beds. It removed all of the stress from our project. I highly recommend Spry if your looking for movers. They were on time and exceeded our expectations! Thank you! (This was our second experience.)
