Tanks-a-Lot is an Everett outfit built around one job: getting an old oil tank out of a basement and a new one in, fast. A recent review from July 2026 describes a same-day swap on Bradford Road that included repositioning the tank to free up garage space, and the speed is not new — a February 2025 review describes a 275-gallon tank removed in under half an hour with no spill, and a July 2025 review clocked a full swap at an hour and a half without a drop hitting the floor. The crew work is the consistent strength across the record. Named techs — Jared, Jay, Andre, and others — turn up across years of five-star reviews for careful, spill-free removals: plastic laid down to protect carpets, and in one 2024 review foundation holes patched after pulling the old fill and vent lines. Pricing gets called fair more than once — an April 2024 review from a senior customer says the quote beat competitors by thousands, and a 2025 review just calls it 'very fairly priced'. The company carries a Better Business Bureau grade of A+. The office side is less consistent than the crew. A 2023 review describes calls that never got returned ('I'll call you next week' on repeat), a 2024 review reports a no-call no-show on a scheduled date, and a 2023 review describes a scheduling mix-up that turned into a demand for a credit card over a tank the customer said had already been removed by someone else. A 2022 review reported a driver cursing at a customer, and a July 2025 review called the staff 'the rudest individuals you can work with'. None of that shows up in the small run of reviews from the last six months, but it's worth pinning down the appointment window and following up if a call isn't returned right away. For a straightforward tank removal or swap, this is a company with a long, mostly positive track record and crews people ask for by name. Confirm scheduling details up front, and don't hesitate to push if a call goes unanswered.
“The Tanks A Lot person I spoke to said he “wouldn’t bother installing a Roth over a Granby single wall tank”, something about plastic fittings on a Roth that give off an oil smell when you refill? Definitely sounded weird to me, I was under the impression a Roth double wall tank is like the modern standard.”
“Tanks A Lot quoted $4000 for removal and replacement with a steel tank and in general $4000-$5000 seems like the average cost.”
Absolutely the best oil replacement service around. Customer service was above and beyond! The team that replaced my tank today on Bradford road was AMAZING! Replaced it quickly, updated a few things after replacing my 25+ year old tank, and placed the new tank in a little better position, freeing up more garage space. They stayed after the install to verify everything worked (burner/hot water/etc). The best part was how great they worked together as a team and made the process both enjoyable and informative. Can’t recommend them enough, and hope the installation team gets recognized for being so respectful, knowledgeable, and informative. Thank you so much!! 5 stars for a 5+ star organization!!!
I live in Jamaica plain, Ma and our building is a six unit condo association. Recently 5 of the condos transitioned from oil to gas heat and the tanks here were old, and 3 were buried in sand with concrete blocks build around them. I called Tanks-A-Lot and a distinguished gentleman, (to bad he is happily married), who has been doing this for six decades came out assessed the situation and within one week a crew came out and did the work. Tanks-A-Lot removed 5 old oil tanks and about a truck load of sand and concrete in two days. There are no evidence of the tanks even to the pipes going out side to fill them. All removed and patched! Great Job no hassles very reasonable prices! Excellent Job!
I have been a home builder over 45 years. Built some nice homes over the years and have used many contractors. Without a doubt this was one of my most pleasant experiences. Would highly recommend them if you need this service. Don't bother to shop around. Ron Ferioli

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Fast, Professional, and Reliable! I had an amazing experience with Tanks-A-Lot. They were able to come out within just 3 hours to remove my old oil tank, and the entire process was quick, clean, and extremely professional. The team showed up on time, worked efficiently, and took care of everything from start to finish with no hassle. It’s rare to find a company that responds this fast and delivers great quality work. Highly recommended for anyone needing oil tank removal!
