Fifteen written reviews, and the same four names keep turning up in them: Dave, Josh, Austin, Shane. The Perfect Climate is a father-and-son HVAC outfit — BBB records it as Perfect Climate, Inc. of Nottingham, New Hampshire, owned by David Standley — working heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers and thermostats across northern Massachusetts, southern Maine and southern New Hampshire, with a separate phone line for each state. The fullest account is a November 2025 install: two new heat pumps plus ducting for one of them, with David, Josh, Austin and Shane on site, and the customer describing them as work-focused and careful around the house. In June 2025 a homeowner wrote that Austin repaired an AC air handler after a previous HVAC company had charged $200 for a wrong diagnosis and bent a thermostat pin doing it. A September 2025 reviewer said Josh was responsive and honest "when other companies were not", and a long-standing customer that same month said Dave answers the phone himself and comes straight out. Google reads 5.0 across 21 ratings, and the company has been a BBB Accredited business since September 2023 with an A+ rating — accreditation and grade both, which is not the usual pairing. Then there is the age problem, and it deserves a question. The company's own site says "since 1983" and describes "what started over 40 years ago as a small, local HVAC operation". BBB's file on the same business records the business started 2 February 2001, incorporated in 2013, and "Years in Business: 25". Both cannot be true — and 25 years is a good record on its own, which makes the extra fifteen harder to explain. Ask which date is theirs. Two smaller things before booking. The licensing claim on the site is the phrase "Licensed & Insured MA, ME, & NH" with no number attached — the company's own words, not a registry confirmation, so ask for the number for your state. And one of those fifteen reviews, a four-star from September 2025, was written before any work happened: it praises the quote and the questions answered, then says plainly that the project had not started. For a North Shore homeowner planning a heat-pump or mini-split conversion, the crew is named, consistent and recent. Confirm the licence, and pin down the founding date.

Amazing company, so happy with our mini split. Great to work with , professional and reliable. Will defiantly use again
I can’t say enough great things about The Perfect Climate! From start to finish, their team was professional, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and made sure the job was done right the first time.
Very pleasant experience!!! They are fabulous people with great work ethics and commitment. We just got 2 new heat pumps installed along with ducting for one of them. David and team (Josh, Austin and Shane) did a wonderful job and we are very satisfied so far with the installation. We found them to be fairly priced, very punctual, work focused, cordial and very mindful as they worked at our home to install these heat pumps. There was an issue with the thermostats and they replaced both thermostats. We went through Masssave and though the rebate is yet to process, Dave completed the formalities asap. Highly recommended....
The Perfect Climate staff and their workmanship were excellent. Plan to use them again! Thank you
