Boston Brothers Construction & Repair is a Boston-area general contractor whose reviews skew toward the big jobs — home additions, garages, and full kitchen and bathroom remodels — rather than small repairs. A customer review names Shamkhal Hasanov as the owner, and another thanks him directly for handling material logistics on a kitchen remodel. The company holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration. What stands out across a run of 2025 and 2026 Google reviews is a recurring shape: the project runs into a permit or inspection hold — a beam adjustment flagged at framing, a wait on a foundation inspection, a delayed electrical sign-off — and the crew keeps the homeowner updated and adjusts without extra cost. Reviewers describe additions that "tie in nicely with the existing roofline," garages with framing and siding that "matches the house perfectly," and kitchen remodels finished with attention to cabinetry and layout. A full bathroom remodel is described managing plumbing inspections without stalling the job, with hallway floors protected throughout. Several homeowners specifically call out crews covering floors and sweeping up daily. The record isn't spotless. A July 2026 one-star review, titled as a disappointing experience, describes a renovation that started in April 2025 after an e-contract was signed that March; the review doesn't lay out further specifics, but it stands apart from the pattern elsewhere. On Best Pick Reports, a separate platform, the company's 789 ratings average 4.7 stars, with the large majority five-star but a combined 39 at two stars or below. For a homeowner planning an addition, a garage, or a full kitchen or bathroom remodel, the pattern across reviews is a crew that communicates through the inevitable permitting delays and keeps a job site tidy. Given how often projects here brush up against inspections, it's worth asking upfront how the timeline and budget would flex if a permit or inspection pushes the schedule.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Experience with Boston Brothers Construction & Repair LLC – Owner/Contractor Shamkhal Hasanov We hired Boston Brothers Construction & Repair LLC, owned by Shamkhal Hasanov, and signed an e-contract on March 20, 2025. The renovation project started in April 2025, but problems started showing after only one month. Throughout the project, we experienced missed deadlines, repeated promises that were not followed through, and difficulty reaching the contractor. There were two agreed-upon completion deadlines that were missed. Despite multiple attempts to contact Sham, communication became very poor. Our last contact with him was in March 2026, and since then, he has completely stopped responding and has ghosted us up to this day. There are still unresolved issues, including: * Paint touch-ups that were never completed * Floor grilles installed in a different color than expected * Handles for the bi-fold cabinets not installed * Kitchen layout issue where the microwave was not installed at the standard height and now needs to be removed and corrected * Building and plumbing permits that were not fully completed We took time before filing a complaint with the Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) program because we wanted to give Shamkhal Hasanov the opportunity to correct the issues and complete the work as promised. Unfortunately, after waiting and making multiple attempts to communicate, many commitments remained unfulfilled. Shamkhal Hasanov is a soft-spoken and polite person, which initially gave us confidence. However, a contractor’s professionalism should also be measured by accountability, communication, and completing agreed-upon work—not just promises. We have documented the entire renovation process and can provide supporting evidence, including photos, videos, the signed contract, payment records, and our complete conversation history, if needed to verify our experience. For anyone who would like additional information or supporting documentation regarding our experience with Boston Brothers Construction & Repair LLC, After this experience, we will be sharing our review on multiple platforms to help other homeowners make an informed decision and hopefully prevent anyone else from experiencing the same frustration, stress, and disappointment that we went through. We invested our hard-earned money into this renovation and expected quality work and professionalism. Instead, we were left with unfinished items, unresolved issues, and a very stressful experience.
We had Boston Brothers do remodeling work for us and the result came out really good. It wasn’t a perfect process every day, because construction never is, but they were responsive and fixed the things that needed attention. I’d use them again.
