Carole Kitchen and Bath Design is a Woburn cabinetry and design showroom with an unusually large, name-heavy review history — dozens of reviewers each credit a specific designer (Sara, Debbie, Kathy, Frank, Stacey, Kristen, Maryellen, MJ, Doug, Patrick, and others) for walking them through a kitchen or bathroom project. Google shows a 4.7★ average across 149 ratings, and BBB gives the business an A+ grade. A 2024 Reddit thread names the company as a cabinet source and calls it helpful. The written record runs from 2021 through mid-2026 and repeats a few themes. Several clients describe buying from the company more than once — a 2026 review describes a designer replacing cabinets that had water damage, twenty years after the original purchase from the same company. A 2024 review describes a single project outfitting three full condo kitchens and eight bathrooms across a Somerville building. Designers are described working alongside separate installation contractors rather than doing the installation themselves — several reviews draw that distinction directly. The last several months carry a cluster of serious complaints. An April 2026 review describes a finished kitchen with mismeasured cabinets and a formaldehyde odor. A review from the same week describes an installation contractor the company recommended doing slow, careless work. A February 2026 review alleges the company withdrew an offered 50% refund after declining to fix remaining sizing errors. These sit alongside a much larger volume of reviews describing a smoother process — cabinets delivered on schedule, minor defects fixed quickly, and designers who worked through multiple rounds of changes without friction. BBB's page shows no complaints against the business, which sits somewhat apart from the specific, detailed complaints appearing in recent Google reviews. For a kitchen or bathroom cabinetry project, this reads as a large, established design operation where the assigned designer matters — worth getting cabinet measurements and refund/correction terms confirmed in writing given the recent complaints.

If you’re looking to have your kitchen remodeled, I highly recommend Maryellen Shaughnessy from Carole Kitchen and Bath Design. I told her everything I had hoped and wished for my tiny kitchen, and she made my dreams come true by giving me all the extra space I wanted. My new kitchen truly beautiful. Thank you Maryellen!!!
My kitchen was water damaged and I needed to replace my cabinets that I purchased from Carole 20 years ago. Unfortunate, Sara still worked there and was able to help me out and replace my cabinets with great quality cabinets once again. Replacing my cabinets turned out be the easiest part of the reconstruction. Thanks!
Our cabinets are beautiful! Sara did a wonderful job helping us design our kitchen. She was insightful and listened well to what we wanted. She was also very quick to respond to all our questions throughout the process. All issues were resolved quickly. We had a wonderful experience overall.
I worked with Kathy to create a kitchen design that fit within the style and dimensions of my old quirky home. Kathy is a true expert and professional. She cares deeply about the satisfaction of her customers. She guided me through the entire process and even connected frequently with our contractors to ensure it all went smoothly. Great communication and sincere professionalism was felt throughout the entire team as well. I would fully recommend!!
This contractor that your company recommended needs help. He borrowed a broom from me to clean a mess he made,. he borrowed a bucket from me to contain a water leak,. I supplied house siding so he could repair a window replacement that he replaced. This contractor works 4 hours a day and gets very little done. He has turned my kitchen into a disaster area.
