David Cooke Plaster Co. redoes the plaster inside in-ground pools, and the company says it has been in business for 40 years. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0552875, is active on the state registry under DAVID COOKE PLASTER CO LLC. On Google it holds 3.9 stars from 7 ratings. A 2023 customer said Rob and the team were highly responsive and helpful throughout a pool project, and praised the result. A 2024 reviewer praised the company's finishes. A 2022 customer hired the company to restore an in-ground gunite pool: a new tile border below the coping, a hairline crack repair in the shallow end and new plaster. That 2022 customer said that 6 months after completion the new tile was falling off in the deep end and dark brown staining was appearing in the shallow end. The 2022 customer wrote that the company returned only after numerous calls and after their attorney contacted it, then repaired the tile border and tried to acid wash the stain. That 2022 customer said the stain would not lift, that the company said it did not warranty crack repairs, and that about 1.5 years after the work the tile was falling off in the repaired zones. A 2025 reviewer said the company's workers had been asked 4 times to stop blocking paid parking spots and were rude when asked to move.
“Crews from David Cooke Plaster Co. LLC of South Windsor wrapped work up last week and the pool has been re-filled with water.”
These workers have been asked 4 times to stop blocking our resident’s paid parking spots or parking in the residential spots directly. The workers do not care, are incredibly rude when asked to move, and continue to block in residents cars. They have been told 4 separate times to park on the street and the workers have confirmed that they are supposed to be parking on the street but they continue to block our paid parking access “because it’s closer”, which it is not. If these workers are too lazy to walk to the truck when parked on the street, imagine how lazy their work is. Hire a company that has common decency and work ethic, these people do not care.
This company is involved in education at the highest level. Some of the most educated people work here. Definitely listen to them. They do great work, beautiful finishes. Thank you for all the support you provided to the industry.
Just finished a project with David Cooke Plaster. Rob and the team were highly responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. The outcome of the project is beautiful! Looking forward to many more years of enjoying the pool with my family. I highly recommend them.
David Cooke Plaster company was hired to restore our in ground pool. The scope of the work was to provide us with a new tile boarder below the coping and to redo the plaster inside of a custom gunite (concrete) pool with new plaster. At the same time, they were to repair a hairline crack in the shallow end of the pool as well, before the installation of the new plaster finish. The work seemingly came out flawlessly, or so we thought. 6 months after completion We noticed that the new tile was falling off on the deep end of the pool and some dark brown staining was appearing in the shallow end of the pool. After numerous calls and ultimately having to have our attorney contact them on our behalf we finally got David Cooke to return. They repaired the tile boarder that was failing and tried to acid wash the concrete to remove the stain. The repair done on the tile was less than acceptable Aesthetically as you could very clearly see it was a repair job, but as long as the tile was not falling off that was better than nothing. The staining would not lift from the shallow end of the pool. David Cooke stated that it was from the crack repair and that they do not warranty crack repairs so that they would not offer a resolution on this issue. Today, approx 1.5 years after The work was completed, my tile boarder is failing off all over the place in the repaired zones and the shallow end staining has gotten so prominent and dark that not a single person who sees it doesn’t ask, “what’s all over the bottom of your pool”. David Cooke. Has not offered any sort of resolution for us, other than to tell us we were cheap for using a traditional white plaster Instead of One of their premium multicolor finishings (pebble tech) which they state would have hidden the repair better. (The did not state this from the beginning however) The tile continues to fall off in the deep end, and they will not address it even though it is still under warranty. Both myself and my Attonrey have requested a resolution, to which we have been ignored. I am looking for advice from David Cooke, and I ask Them, if you were not confident in this repair and restoration, why did you offer it and take our money ? Additionally, how can we once and for all fix this pool and hide the repairs that were made.
