Doughty & Sons is a Woburn plumbing and heating business, and a 2023 Google customer said it fixed a blocked toilet, explained everything in detail and was reasonably priced. When the company came back for a further task, it asked that 2023 customer about replacing an outdoor spigot, and the quote was $725 for one spigot, which the customer called outrageous; the customer already had a new spigot that cost $35. That 2023 customer said the company took $140 off, the job was done, and the review went from five stars to two. A 2023 Google customer who left five stars called them a family of plumbers who were responsive and kind. A 2022 customer said the company was very responsive and recommended it. Edward Doughty's Massachusetts plumber license, 11968-PL-M, is active on the state registry. The company's website says it was founded in 1980 and describes it as a Woburn mechanical contractor providing plumbing, heating, cooling and remodeling. The Better Business Bureau lists it as accredited with an A grade, and BuildZoom shows 80 permitted projects for the company.
“Doughty & Sons Inc”
Very efficient, professional, and competent. Fixed a block toilet. Neat and clean. Reasonably priced. Friendly and explained everything in detail. It’s a family business. Very nice people. They came back for another task and asked if I wanted the outdoor spigot replaced. I said what’s the pricing and he said we don’t usually do quotes on small jobs but I insisted I needed one and the quote was $725 for one outdoor spigot , I thought that was outrageous. I actually had a had a new spigot itself in my basement. They took $140 off the price. The spigot had cost me $35. He said because there were two of them and it would take them time to go buy a spigot (which I had bought at Home Depot). It was originally a five star review, but now it’s a two star I had the job done because I was kind of caught in the middle. It’s too bad they are not the company I thought they were.
Great family of plumbers. Responsive, kind and do a great job
