Elite Home & Mold Inspections is a Melrose team led by Paul Parella, with technicians Evan and Abe/Abraham doing much of the on-site work — and the specialty comes through clearly in the reviews: this is mostly a mold, air-quality and moisture-focused inspection practice, sitting alongside standard home inspections. The numbers are large for the trade: Google shows 522 ratings averaging 5 stars, and BBB gives the company an A+. The written history runs to 411 reviews across five sources since 2021, and it stays exceptionally active — 113 reviews in just the last six months. What repeats across that volume is a pattern of catching what a prior inspection or remediation missed: one recent review describes Evan finding a termite nest while checking for mold, another describes Paul pointing out areas a previous mold-removal job hadn't actually fixed. In a 2024 review, one homeowner described Paul tracing a mysterious problem to a refrigerant leak in the HVAC system that was circulating through the house, then looping in an HVAC repair company and poison control to help the family understand the exposure. Reviewers consistently describe being walked through findings room by room rather than handed a report cold, with technicians explaining what a result means and what, if anything, needs to happen next. Several clients — including one who'd used Paul three times for different properties — specifically credit the team with distinguishing serious issues from minor ones rather than flagging everything as urgent. Turnaround on lab results and reports is described as fast, often within a few days of the visit. One account worth knowing about: in a May 2026 review, a client said the inspector arrived early, moved through the inspection too quickly, and left them with vague notes and no real walkthrough of the findings — issues they said a proper inspection should have caught turned up afterward. It's the one clearly negative account among the 113 reviews from the last six months alone, and it runs counter to how most other reviewers describe the pace and detail of the visit. For mold, air-quality, or moisture concerns — or a standard home inspection paired with that kind of testing — the reviews point to Elite as an established, high-volume option; the one rushed-inspection account above is worth asking about directly when booking.
Evan was awesome and so knowledgeable!!
Evan was great. On time. Very knowledgeable and talked me through the different areas we need to address. He took various air samples and expect a report in a week or so. Couldn't be happier with the service, highly recommend Elite Home !
I am completely satisfied with Paul’s inspection! He is very thorough regarding checking every corner of the property, and extremely patient when it comes to explaining his findings to us. Not only that, he is quite responsive regarding explaining finds days after the inspection. I wouldn’t hesitate a single bit to hire him again in the future.
Honest and thorough inspection. Definitely go with this guy, I was very impressed and happy with his work. Took me throughout the whole house and explained each part in detail.
Elite Home and Mold Inspections has been great! They were transparent in their communication regarding their services. The inspector, Evan arrived on time and communicated throughout the entire process; he even made some recommendations beyond what was expected without any pressure. We are so appreciative of working with a company that displays trust and confidence. Thank you!
