The other thing buyers keep describing is the teaching — Stephen Verbeek walking them through what he found and what it means for the house they are about to sign for. Talon is a one-inspector business in Revere covering Greater Boston, and Verbeek's Massachusetts home inspector licence, number 601, is active on the state registry. The company says he founded Talon in 2008, having started in home inspection in 2003. The specifics stay small and practical. In a March 2026 review, a condo buyer in old town Marblehead said he turned up on time and went through the attic, basement and common areas as well as the unit itself. In a December 2023 review, a buyer wrote that he explained radon to them — their house turned out to have it — and talked them through what to do next. A May 2024 customer said he went off and researched a concern they had raised, then came back with the results. If you are buying an older place around Boston and want the inspection to double as an education in what you are taking on, this is that kind of inspector. Ask how quickly the written report follows the walkthrough, and whether radon or other add-on testing is quoted separately.
