Tri Value Consultants is a Lynnfield home inspection firm run by a father-and-son team — Joseph V. Scaduto founded the business (his own site gives 1979 in one place and 1977 in another, so call it roughly 40-plus years), with son Michael now doing much of the inspection work. The BBB gives the company an A+ grade, though it isn't BBB-accredited. What the reviews describe, across a handful of accounts from 2021 to 2023, is an inspector willing to be the bad guy on the buyer's behalf. In a 2023 review, a couple wrote that Michael pointed out safety issues serious enough that they walked away from the purchase entirely — "money well spent," and they said they'd call again for their next search. A 2022 review from a repeat home-buyer who had worked with other inspectors called Mike and Joe "by far the most knowledgeable and thorough" of anyone they'd used. A 2021 review framed the whole appeal directly: most inspectors work with realtors and soften bad news, while this one tells you what to fix and backs the report with photos and facts. There isn't a large or recent written record to draw further detail from, and current pricing and availability aren't documented — worth a call to confirm both before booking.

We contacted Tri-Value looking for an inspection on a house we were considering purchasing. Michael was able to fit us in quickly as time was of the essence. The inspection was quite thorough. Michael took my husband around the property to point out some key safety issues. The final report we received was extensive and very easy to understand. Due to the issues we learned through Michael we did not feel comftorable moving forward with this property. Since we are continuing our search we will be calling Tri-Value again. It was money well spent!
Very knowledgeable, good attention to detail, and provided a comprehensive report. I would recommend them to anyone needing an inspection.
Michael and Joseph provided a fantastic service inspecting our future home. As this is not my first home purchase, I have worked with other inspectors and Mike and Joe were by far the most knowledgeable and thorough. We learned so much at the time of inspection and even more from the extensive write up with photos we received after. I highly recommend their service and if I ever need another home inspection they will be my first call.
As a first time home buyer, my thoughts of a home inspection is already scary from the beginning. Definitely had to prepare for the worst. When I arrived to the potential home around12:20pm(appt at 12:30), I already see Mike getting to work. (I thought he was the seller at first) Upon meeting Mike, very inviting right off the bat, he mentions his years of experience, information about what he does. In doing so, we noticed workers hired by the seller working around the house and he advised with caution about foundation work during cold brittle weather. It was cold and windy that day so very great information to keep handy. As they went to work, Him and Joe WENT TO WORK! Unfortunately there was lots of items blocking the view of potential issues. He made note to keep an eye out. After every room/apartment, he reviewed every detail of every room that had issues or what to keep an eye on. Very Thorough. It’s my first inspection ever, although worried and still preparing for the worst, it was expected. I knew nothing was going to be perfect and that’s okay. He kept it real. I’d rather be in the know of the issues and know of the things to keep an eye out than expect the worst blindly. Him and Joe provided a detailed inspection report with Pictures!!!! (Imagine going to a restaurant, looking at the menu with no pictures but words. I love when restaurants have a full menu with Pictures). And WOW, the inspection report (completed/sent within 24hrs) they provided was very detailed, informative, and great to have. With a separate PICTURE REPORT!(within 2 days) you can tell how much input Mike and Joe had put into this for me. I appreciate this! I 100% feel that when you hire their service, they make it known that they work and do their job to protect and look out for YOU. Again, I am new at this, as I’m thinking about it now, I’m really glad Mike and Joe were hired to do the inspection. As they said, once a customer, you’re a customer for life. So if any issues or concerns I have later on, I can always seek their expertise anytime. I really appreciate you guys. Thank you for a 10/10 service
The only home inspector that I have met that is for the home buyer or home owner. Most home inspectors work with realtors and will not tell you what is wrong so you will just buy the house. Not just a box checker. You get a real report with pics and facts that can be backed up with proof. They also stand behind there word and will tell you what to do to fix the problem. If your buying a home you need a home inspector that is working for you. Also I would recommend them to inspect a contractors work before you pay the contractor there final payment. To many times city inspectors give the OK on Bad work.
