Emergency Contractors is the Hyannis outfit for the call you make with water already on the floor — water removal and recovery first, restoration and remodeling afterward. Angi's profile lists the company as operating since 2001, out of 73 Lyannough Road. The written account of their work dates to August 2012, and it cuts both ways. The response was quick and the two young men who did the job were efficient and did a good job, that homeowner wrote — but they felt overcharged for the small area that needed drying, and flagged the four pieces of equipment that were going to run for three days. Angi's page adds that the follow-up call on that job went unreturned. The platform headlines disagree: Google shows 4 stars from a single rating, while Angi's page shows 0.0 from one rating. Alongside the water work, Angi lists demolition, deck and porch building, kitchen, bath and basement remodels, and window replacement. A reasonable call on Cape Cod when speed matters more than anything else. Get the drying scope and the daily equipment charge in writing before the fans go in, and settle who you reach with a question once the trucks leave.
Although the response was quick and the two young men who performed the work were efficient and did a good job, I feel that I was overcharged for the small area that needed to be dried. In addition, they were going to leave the four pieces of equipment running for three days (at a cost of about $150/day) and I was not covered by insurance. After one day, my carpet was dry and I called them to come and pick up the equipment. After I received the invoice, I called to ask for an estimate for steam cleaning the carpet. At that time, I mentioned that I thought the bill was more than I expected. No one ever called me back to give an estimate!
