Three other companies had already failed to stop the air conditioner freezing up. Engineered Comfort Solutions found it. That story repeats often enough in this Marstons Mills shop's reviews to be the through-line: a mini-split another contractor set up wrong, a Fujitsu system a previous installer had written off as dead, a unit that took a full refrigerant drain and re-charge before it ran right. ECS is who people on the Cape seem to call second. The bigger share of the work is conversions. Homeowners describe swapping window units and electric baseboard for ductless mini-splits, pulling an oil system and tank out for a heat-pump-and-gas hybrid, and in one case an air-to-water heat pump now running the domestic hot water and the baseboard radiators with the gas furnace gone. On Google the company holds 4.9 stars across 75 ratings, and 46 of those reviews landed in the last six months with none of them negative. What customers keep describing is the front end of the job. Several write about being handed several install options with prices and trade-offs attached before committing; one was walked through a zero-interest loan and the rebate paperwork. Crews get named — Everett, Ryan, Conor, Matt — and the write-ups mention drop cloths, daily cleanup, and calls ahead about arrival times. One customer who had a minor issue months after an install reported a text response and a fix the next morning. One thing to raise before you sign. The Massachusetts sheet metal license attached to this business, 17761-SM-A, comes back from the state registry as expired, held under an individual's name. The Better Business Bureau's own profile lists a different sheet metal number and a Massachusetts plumber number for the company, but those are BBB's listings, not something confirmed against the registry. Ask directly which license the crew is working under and get its current status; that is a fair question and a licensed shop will answer it flatly. BBB does grade the company an A and lists it as an accredited business. Worth knowing too: the written history here is short. Every review on file runs 2025 to 2026, so this is a busy young company rather than a long-established one. If you are pricing a heat pump or mini-split conversion on the Cape, or you have a system someone else could not get right, this is a reasonable call to make. Sort out the license question first, then hold them to the written option-by-option quote people describe getting.
We are excited to have our new air to water heat pump that supplies us with domestic hot water and also heats all our baseboard radiators. No more gas furnace. The installation went very well and Everett and his team were excellent to work with. Thanks!
I recently purchased a new home and reached out to ECS to assess my existing HVAC systems. During their evaluation, they identified an issue with my air conditioning system and took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening and, more importantly, why. What really stood out to me was their approach. Rather than simply recommending a replacement, they worked with me to come up with a thoughtful solution that would maximize the performance and longevity of my existing system, specifically my condenser. Throughout the entire process, they were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. Communication was excellent from the initial assessment through completion of the modifications. I have been extremely impressed with both their expertise and their commitment to doing things the right way. I plan to continue using them for all of my HVAC needs and have joined their Comfort Club so I can rest assure that my home and systems continue to be well cared for. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC service!
