Forty-nine reviews in six months is a busy shop, and Ferris reads like one: a Nashua plumbing, heating and air company whose customers name the technician every time — Ricky, Jonah, Nick, Matt, Rick, Jim. Matthew T Ferris holds an active New Hampshire plumber licence. Drains and sewer lines are where the sharpest accounts sit. A homeowner with a main sewer problem had Ricky at the door within two hours; another watched him work a clog under a basement floor by elimination — main floor, then basement, then out to the road — until he had it. One customer said Rick diagnosed the trouble and doubled as a septic sounding board to spare them extra cost, and an April 2026 Angi reviewer credited Jonah with fixing a sewer issue. The heating and cooling side gets the same treatment. During a July 2026 heat wave a technician set up an emergency fix for a failing AC in punishing outdoor temperatures; another customer had AC problems sorted on the spot and a quote written for 22-year-old units nearing the end. A boiler was replaced start to finish under Jonah's lead in April 2026, with the crew finding and fixing problems the owner did not know about. Split units, a battery backup sump pump, an oil tank replacement and a vented hood all appear in the last few months. What customers keep praising is the process around the work. In January 2025 someone with a 16-year-old leaking water heater said the office asked for photos of the setup first so the quote and parts were right, then replaced it the same day, with texts confirming who was coming and when. A November 2025 customer wrote that nothing was framed as a trade-up or an emergency — options and quotes, then a choice — and that a final walk-through turned up a partially closed hot water valve. Another said the technician explained everything without talking to them like an idiot. The dissent is a single line. In May 2026 one reviewer wrote that the company did not stand by its work and they would not use it again, without saying what happened. It stands alone in a record of 131 reviews going back to 2020. Google shows 4.9 stars from 120 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor both show 5.0 from 51. A commenter in a March 2026 New Hampshire thread about gas water heater pricing pointed straight at Matt Ferris. For blocked drains, sewer lines, water heaters, boilers and the mid-heat-wave AC failure, this is a deep and very current run of positive accounts with a licence you can check. Ask for the quote in writing before the truck rolls, and use the arrival texts — several customers say that is what makes the scheduling work.
“Hit up my guy Matt Ferris, Ferris Plumbing and Heating.”
I couldn’t be happier with Nick and his coworker from Ferris Plumbing. They were kind, knowledgeable and professional. They did an excellent job installing a battery backup sump pump for me. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!
Vented hood and work out any issue. Great professional work.
