Two customers on Angi described handing G & R Plumbing & Heating a deposit for work that never happened. In a February 2005 review, one paid $3,000 to start a job, the job stalled on a city permitting issue, and after Rob agreed to return the deposit only $600 came back and the calls went unanswered. In a December 2004 review, another said Rob did two small jobs well and on time, then took a $400 deposit for a bigger third job and never did the work. The Woburn company's written history is entirely from 2004 and 2005, all on Angi, and it is split. Three customers from that period had good things to say: a July 2005 review called him straightforward, reliable and committed to the job, a December 2004 reviewer said he was professional and "definately knows his trade," and an October 2004 customer said G&R handled some small non-plumbing items too and did not try to sell services they did not need, such as relocating pipes. Unreturned calls come up again and again in the complaints from the same years: a December 2004 customer was still waiting on a promised fixture price follow-up and a front porch stair repair, a November 2004 review said a hole was still left in the home from unfinished work, and another November 2004 customer said the work was done on time but calls went unreturned and no receipt was left. A November 2004 water heater job drew a detailed account — a promised 7 am return that became 10 am, no word until the customer called at 2 pm, the thermostat finally installed around 3:30 pm, and solder droplets on the tank's finish. An April 2005 review said Glenn, the "G" of G&R, was gone and warned against Rob's plumbing and bathroom remodeling work.
